We should put end to Lou's lies. Let's be creative. We thought of the flower campaign, we all have higher degrees. There should be a way how to stop this guy. I think we are the only ones who can do it.
By the way, Lou's ancestors came to USA also legally like us. What is the difference then? Really the only people who have the right to criticize the legal immigration to USA are the native Americans. I know that this argument would never success with the general public here but I believe it's true.

Following intresting info is listed on the immigration-law, wish it is true :)
"There has been going around a rumor lately that the USCIS was internally discussing retreat from the 485 rejection decision. It appears that this rumor probably started from the USCIS HQ order over the Texas Service Center to hold all the July 2007 EB-485 applications abeyanbce and not to return the applications to applicants. Unconfirmed sources indicate that because of the order, the Texas Service Center is not returning the EB-485 applications which have been received since July 2, 2007. However, there is no evidence that the decision is necessarily related to its potential decision to withdraw the rejection decision. At this point, its reasons are completion unknown. Please stay tuned. "
Hi,
If it is going to be true, then that is the most happiest news for everyone over here!Hope this happens!!!

Are there any runners, joggers, walkers out there? Has anyone heard of running teams like Team Leukemia, Team AIDS, Race for the Cure - Team Susan G Komen??
Well, I would like to propose a Team IV. There would be a nominal fee, say $50 or $75, to join the walking/running club and you would get one running T shirt (with IV logo) to wear at local runs/walks. This way we get our name out in the community. And just like Team Leukemia, each Team IV member will conduct 1 fundraising event per quarter or per 6 months. At the end of the fundraising year, we should donate a portion of our collections to a local or national charity. The donation will come from Immigration Voice. This way, Immigration Voice members have another reason to be proud of what we bring to the plate as employment based legal immigrants.
If there is such a running/walking team out there, please let me know as I would love to join and support the cause. If there is interest to establish such a Team, please let me know.

All this would only help the child continue to stay in US with a Legal Status.. But he/she would still be a dependent(H-4) that means cannot do any part-time job & at the same time pay higher tuition fees.. whereas the DREAM Act proposes to give GC status to the children of illegal immigrants.. seems a tad too unfair for those who abide by the law!

even my employer didnt allow us to file saying, if employee files, FBI will get mad thinking it has toxics in it :D :D :D
trust me thats what they told me..dunno what he thinks..:) :)
but the point is I sent my docs to my employer and I didnt include any G-28 in it..which means we signed as we prepared all docs..
Now can they attach G-28 and introduce themselves as representatives and swallow all receipts???

Based on Assement in this article, it almost seems that the chances of STRIVE are dead even before it goes to House Immigration Commettee. I am not trying to be negative or something but the article has such a tone. I can understand that Pelosi did not schedule any timing but what concerns me most is the fact that
"California Democrat Zoe Lofgren, who chairs the Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security and International Law, will hold hearings before marking up any bill"
Now we all know how one sided these hearings are and how long they take. In nutshell these hearings give chance to any tom, dick and harry to express his opinion and create melodrama. We already worry about melodrama of people such as Sen Sessions in the Senate. Add this drama, and it can easily eat the short window we have to get the relief. I really hope I am wrong here but I have a bad feeling about this :(

I am trying to find out more about the priority date porting - any pointers to details on how/when it is allowed? From various threads it appears that some of these are successful, but in other cases, some attorneys may not even pursue PD porting.
If the I-140 is approved with the previous employer (for over 2 years) but I-485 has not been filed, does PD porting require that the new GC application have exactly the same job profile as the one for which the original Labor was filed and I-140 approved?
Thanks.

I surely may have missed something here. Has been a bill placed already that will allow us to file 485 and get EAD?
Sorry, I am really having tough time coming to IV these days.
Its law the day when it is signed by the president unless there is clause in the bill to postpone the impelmentation.

There are over 339,000 people stuck in name check - this is done for naturalization and 485. I can bet you this will be the next battle because a lot people who have filed 485 will get stuck in this black hole, where this no accountability by FBI to individuals because the "client" is USCIS and last quarter there were 400 law suits (Writ of Madamus etc) to force USCIS and FBI to do their jobs. It would be best if setting time limits for name checks are included in IVs goals now itself. No point in jumping from the frying pan if one is going to eventually land in the fire. The name check snares a lot of Indians, Chinese, middle easterners, russians etc. Most people stuck in the name check have never been involved with the law - go figure the algorithm FBI uses to trawl the ocean bed!
Another thought i had was...Before all of us june, july, august folks land up in the blackhole of FBI namechecks...Can we lobby for some kind of transparency? What in the world can make them take 4 yrs to check a persons name? Can they at least maintain a website that they update as and when a name check is completed...Please core and members,do something about this...something as effective as the campaign to accept july applicants!!while they are overhauling the system let them get it right all the way!!

I keep on hearing about cases of 2000 and before. Good luck to your friend. I am with PD Sep 2001 and I am too mentally prepared to wait for more years..:D
I recently came across an old friend of mine. I was shocked to hear his case. He is an original applicant EB3 India with PD of September 1998. Please note he is the original applicant and this is not labor substitution.
Here are the details
Sep 1998 : Applied with Texas Workforce Commision as regular Non RIR.
Oct 2001: TWC asked to do recruitment. No action was taken on submitting results.
October 2006 : Labor finally approved from Dallas BEC. Concurrently file I 140 and I 485.
Jan 2007 : I 140 approved.
Nov 2007: Took Infopass appointment. Was told case pending name check.
This case is absolutely amazing. My friend doesnt care anymore since he recently married US citizen (genuine case ABCD). He has worked at the same company since 1998 and stuck to stupid job (non IT). My PD is August 2001 and seeing his case I am getting mentally prepared for much much longer wait.
Thanks

it's a two step process to get the birth certificate if your birth was not registered.
1) Apply for a birth certificate at the registrar office and the request will be verified.
This process will take little more time
2) After the verification is completed, the registrar office will issue something stating that the birth was not registered
3) Submit an affidavit stating that you are born at home, with couple of witness signs and hence the birth was not registered at the time of your birth.
4) After submitting the affidavits, the registrar office will issue birth certificate and will register the birth.
Hope this will help.
Thanks,
Salauddin

A top national reporter wants to speak with someone in EB
community who may have recently lost his/her job due to current
economic situation. I think it would be best for our cause for someone
who was offered a new job possibly in the 'same or similar' area
immediately after losing their job. It would help to highlight that
the highly-skilled immigrants are in demand because of their skills
even when the economic situation is not doing well, but, there is no
reason to keep us in limbo for over a decade, merely to test our skill
level. There are better ways to test our skill level. If you or
someone you know fits this profile, kindly email your information and contact details to info at immigrationvoice.org
immediately.
The reporter will also highlight the housing angle and that we can
start new ventures that could potentially create new jobs to uplift
the economy.
This is a big opportunity as the interview from this reporter will be published in most big newspapers and on news websites. We need someone urgently today if possible.
===================
UPDATE FROM THE REPORTER
Actually, what I'm looking for is very broad -- anyone on a work permit
who is concerned about the current economic situation and job losses in
the U.S. economy.
==============
The reporter is trying to speak to immigrants waiting for their Greencards about their concerns about job security, if they have a plan B, if they've been pushed out in restructurings/layoffs and moved to a new job, etc, as they hear the layoffs this year are affecting such people, particularly in the
financial sector
====================
So I guess a lot of people on the forum will qualify. If you are good with interviews, pls contact asap.

Hi everyone, I have been approved on 9/6/7.
only 92 days after AOS filing.
My sponsor, I did work with them from 2002-2007. They agree to file i-485 in the hopes economy would get better. However house builders are doing very bad now and they cannot take me back after approval.
The question is, does this spoiled my chances for citizenship?
I think you can get a letter from employer stating that they can not employ you any more. I am not sure if they issue a letter to every person that loses the job. Just make sure that your intention to work with the sponsering employer is documented somehow .
I have an idea here ... just write an email to your boss or HR stating "how good company has been to you and how they helped you with your immigration process and given a choice you would rather work with the same company"
Take a printout of all these emails and save them if you still have a chance. You can use all these to prove if you run into any problems during the naturalization process.
Apart from these things collect the news paper clips or company wide emails that talk about downsizing. These things should help you to prove your intentions if there is a query about your intentions at the time of naturalization.
If you think company will survive for 5 or 10 more years , just keep in touch with your HR

In central NJ, I called over 9 Doctors and only two of them had an appointment before July 1st -2nd week.
One is Dr. Neil M.S. Estrella in Clark, NJ. Appointment was available for Monday June 18th. But the fees for the exam plus vaccines is $430. The second one is Dr. Marcel Stern in Piscataway, NJ 08854. Appoitnment was available for Thursday June 21st. The fees was more reasonable at $350.
If you're in Central NJ, Hurry, Hurry Hurry.
P.S - If some of you get other appoitnments in NJ, post here so that others will know and not waste time calling other doctors.
To look for doctors in your area, go here :
https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=CIV
You can just walkin to Dr Stern office. Even if you have an appointment with them, you may have to wait 0.5-1.5 hours depending on the time you go. If you go on weekend or weekdays after 5 you may have to wait longer but afternoon should be faster. And there fee may be more than $350 if you need to get shots and xray. Hope this help.
If you call them recp. will tell that appt is required but actually it is just walk-in and you may not get any preference ver people who walked-in.

Is it mandatory to file AC21 with USCIS after moving to a new company?
most lawyer recommend filing it. If your previous employer revokes your I-140, then filing it can potentially save you an RFE and related delays.
If I move out to a new company before 180 days with the employer's co operation now and
If that employer cancel the I-140 in future (i.e after 180 days), will that have any impact on I-485?
No, you are safe in this case. There is the little gray area of you leaving the petitioning employer early, but since they did not revoke teh I-140, you can say that (if it came up in the interview) you intended to go back to them and they had all intentions of hiring you again. As long as I-140 is revoked past 180 days there are no issues. File for AC-21 sometime past the 180 days mark.
