You have to create an online account to get updates on you application. You will see LUD and there is the date everybody is looking for. You can also receive email if take the option.
You will not see LUD if you just put in your recipt number to check status of the case.
Thank you thank you thank you sooooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!! I didnt even know you had to do this!! I would put my receipt number in check status and worry like a fool. I am just plain stupid!!!!!!!
After creating my account, I realized there has been updates!!! And now am thinking about all those days I worried.... what an idiot I am!!
My husband would be very happy to know this. THANKS SO MUCH!

Yes if you look at cnn-ibn you may see such a heading .. but there are thousands of vernacular language media that 90% of its population read everyday and even completely indian English media which is celebrating Diwali just the way they should. Yes foreign investments are there but they are not as big as they are made out to be . If Citibank would like to invest today whom will it invest with - GM or Tata Motors? Money is just something that change hands and flows where there is the greatest potential.India has her strengths and it will beat the odds.

As a victim of identity theft, I can tell you first hand that there is serious potential that this could be an issue. There is no guarantee that the person who received your document will return it first off. What if he simply throws in the trash? USPS makes mistakes all the time. What if your package is placed by USPS in someone else's mailbox? Or what if CIS puts the wrong address on the package?
Anyway, bottomline it has potential but I do not know that we can do anything at this point other than worry and hope.

I did call the Airport Authorities stated in CBP.gov and they have confirmed that since it was not a mistake on their side and the I-94 was issued for the validity of the passport, I need to file for I-102 and the new I-94 for hte duration of my visa tenure I should send the original I-94 to the local Immigration Jurisdiction and pay them $320.00 to process this application.
Damn this Immigration. I hate it!!!!

I have made a contribution of 300 and another $20 re-curring monthly contribution since jan 07. Now you get my point, the spreadsheet would help u get that information without asking me for it.
To start off with inspiring 'others', maybe you should note in your signature IF you have made a recurring donation, as a lot of other members have done.
I am sure that should work with people who can get 'inspired'. I dont think we need to worry about the others, since they will not contribute anyways.

Could you please explain this a bit. I am not sure if I am understanding this right.
.
My attorney prepared the EVL for my employer to sign. I have handed that over to my boss who has sent it to HR for review. This letter has lot of legal lingo and information related to my LCA and I-140 e.g.,
"We acknowledge that, according to the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1154 and 8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(5)(A)), ............"
"We acknowledge that <my name>'s immigration petition filed on <I-140 filing date> listed his job title as <my LCA job title> and <my name>'s current position is in same or similar profession...."
So my concern is why would any employer sign this letter without knowing anything about my LCA, I-140 etc (I had changed job about 240 days after 485 filing). So my current employer may have issues signing this letter.
But my attorney insists that this letter (in same format) needs to be signed in order to respond to the RFE. My thinking is that all this lingo and stuff related to LCA can be eliminated from the letter so that my employer is more comfortable signing it.

That is expected based on the number of I140s that would have been approved and ready for adjudication. Also, with priority dates moving forward, more applications from earlier dates come into play and the processing dates move back.
Hopefully, they start moving forward soon and go over the July / August 2007 hump.
With USCIS what isnt odd! :).
I managed to find the NSC processing time archive from AILA - http://aila.org/content/default.aspx?bc=1016|8767|6739
See the 485 EB based processing timeline.
12/15/2007 - 04/24/2007
01/15/2008 - 07/19/2007
02/15/2008 - 07/30/2007
03/15/2008 - ?
04/15/2008 - 07/11/2007
05/15/2008 - 07/14/2007
06/15/2008 - 07/28/2008
This means that even processing dates go back and forward like priority dates! I dont think the July status is posted yet, but this definitely is interesting.

I look for a help in terms of clarification for birth cert,,
1. Born in 70 but my birth was registered in 2005 when I wanted a birth certificate, BC issued in aug 2005 and says registered in 2005. Is it ok I use them or I need an affidavit also from my parents?
2. There is one letter written wrongly in my name.. can i send or get a new one??
I would greatly appreciate your advise on this
Thanks in advance for your help

Hi friend,
1st question). As per immigration rules,if ur birth is registered on or after 1year of ur birth till date,u got to submit two additional sworn affidavits along with the birth certificate as proof.
So in ur case since ur birth was registered in 2005 and got a new birth certificate in 2005 u need to submit the following :
Birth certificate(which u have now with u..issued in august 2005)
+
Two sworn affidavits from any two blood relatives(mom, dad, siblings, aunt, uncle) older and get notarised
by any attorney/magitrate.The following is the format.
************************************************** ********
AFFIDAVIT REGARDING BIRTH
I __________________ (name) being the _________________ (relationship father, mother, sister, brother, aunt, uncle), to ______________ (FN name), reside at ___________________ (address, including country), do hereby solemnly affirm and state on oath as follows:
I declare that _________________ is my (son/daughter/brother/sister/niece/
nephew). He/She was born on __(Date)_____ in (town, country) and that ______________ (father’s name) is his/her father and _____________ (mother’s name) is his/her mother.
______________________________
Signature of Deponent
AFFIDAVITS MUST BE PROVIDED BY TWO (2) BLOOD RELATIVES, (MOTHER, FATHER, AUNT, UNCLE), AND THIS DOCUMENT MUST BE WITNESSED AND STAMPED BY AN ADVOCATE/NOTARY FOR THE GOVERNMENT OF YOUR COUNTRY.
************************************************** ********
Note :
whatever be the case, combined affidavit will not work. Please ask any two of ur blood relations to give them individually.in my case My dad gave me one affidavit and my aunt gave me one affidavit, coz my mom was in usa that time with me.please check with ur lawyer.this format was 2months old format.i got it done in May 2007.
2 question).Name spelling mispelt in birth certificate needs a combined affidavit from parents and notarised.
Please check with ur lawyer too,
Goodluck,

from www.kenrockwell.com (http://www.kenrockwell.com) , hope this will help
There was a problem in the first two of seven D70s I've used. The focus calibration was off by about a tenth of a millimeter. This means that your images will not be focused on your subject, but instead on something somewhat behind your subject. Don't confuse this with the common mistake of having selected the wrong AF area or otherwise pointing the AF sensor to the side of your subject. Nikon of course will adjust this under warranty if it's a problem. With common f/3.5 and slower lenses it's not much of a problem, and at regular shooting apertures of f/8 or so its completely invisible. Some people incorrectly call this the "backfocus" problem.
On the other hand, if you have fast lenses that alone cost more than the complete D70 kit and you shoot them wide open you ought to check your camera. My $1,700 28mm f/1.4 lens (http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/2814af.htm) wide open at f/1.4 was useless on two cameras, but of course OK at normal apertures. You won't see this through the finder. You have to look at the images at 100% on your computer. It's simply the image being focused on something just a little behind where it should have, which is usually invisible if you have enough depth of field, and of course Nikon will stand behind it if it really is a problem. The samples I've used in May 2004 now seem AOK and mine is perfect, even at f/1.4.
Heck, my D70 focused better than any other camera I've owned, even with my f/1.4 lenses.
Testing this is simple. Just go make at least a dozen photos with your lens wide open and look at the results at 100% on your computer. See if the camera really focused where it should have. If you haven't done this kind of test before there's the potential that your technique may be off and not looked for it before, but you get the idea. The only concern here is that you need to have the focus be where you put it.
This miscalibration is the reason some people think their D70 images are soft. They aren't soft; they simply are focused on the wrong thing!
If your camera is out of adjustment, which I only saw on some of the very first samples, of course it's covered under warranty. If you are crazy, like this guy here (http://dvdhelp.narod.ru/D70_back_focus.html) (look out, it's a slow loading page), you can use a nail to mess it up further and void your warranty at the same time. I don't have this much guts; the D70 has a year warranty and I know your camera isn't that old! On the other hand, I respect his innovative spirit and it's this pioneering spirit which makes him an honorary American as far as I'm concerned. Please use a real Allen wrench to make these adjustments, and remember that Nikon will do it correctly for you for free under warranty and probably clean your camera as well at the same time!

Thank u so much for the info you've collected. In my case, PP expiry is sometime in August. So no issues with that. And I assume the I-94 date issue is applicable only if I used the AP instead of AVR while coming back.
And yes, as per Murthy's site, I'd be carrying the telegram with me to show the IO if needed. And yes...you are right. Its only good NOT to lie to the IO at the POE and promptly tell him that I had been to Canada for landing purpose. But the negative side to this would be a possible RFE on the pending 485 as per this link: http://murthyforum.atinfopop.com/4/OpenTopic?a=tpc&s=1024039761&f=3274000912&m=8451014631&showpollresults=Y
After analysing the situation on that link, I think its wise NOT to LAND in Canada for a PR status while 485 is pending although some people can get lucky if the IO doesn't notice. Some IOs (who are good :)) might even not make an entry on your record even after knowing that you are back from Canada after accepting PR which is another luck scenario. But in the worst case scenario, an RFE on 485 is definitely not a good sign even if there could be ways to get thru it by replying back with reason etc...Bottom line, the 485 adjudication can take a while and might even get rejected with this RFE what with all the stringent laws and scrutinization.
Thoughts appreciated...
If you go through the thread for I-485 RFE on Canadian PR it mentions that
“Service records shows that you filed canadian P.R after you submitted your application for P.R in US.”
As long as you have applied for Canadian PR before filing for US GC there shouldn’t be any problems. My best guess for the source of this RFE is the FBI finger printing submitted towards Canadian PR and not the IO at the POE.

There are 2 things that you need to do and take time..
1. Apply for FBI fingerprint clearance .. You can take fingerprints in your local sheriff's office on a standard FBI form and then send it to FBI.. takes about 2 months.
2. Apply and get IELTS english score.. I think this has become standard now..
