I just applied to lending tree on wednesday for 450k loan. Still nobody contacted me :(. I have an excellent credit history and me and my wife both are using our history to apply. Finally looks the market is really tight in credit. Last time I applied for auto loan I got replies in couple of hours.
Good luck. I am still hunting in NJ and want to get preapproved.
I few months back got it from Wells Fargo. 100% loan, no PMI, 7.25%, 30 year fixed. I heard they have stopped 100% now. You need to have atleast 3% down. I know it is towards the higher side but I want the safety of keeping the money in my account while we go though his rough economy.

against the mouse, press it against your forehead and think about the benifits that you milked from this country".
Lot of people didnt milk much benefits....only people who came on F1 and worked as RA/TA probably "milked"
from US
Rest who were working on H1B paid all the taxes same as any american and
got no returns for it.
A whole lot of people milked from "H1B" workers
As a matter of fact H1B worked for far lower wages than the market forces
would decide thereby keeping the cost of IT infrastructure support for the
financial services, insurance, retail etc low just as mexicans work for
below min wages to keep the cost of maintaining the infrastructure low.
Corporate America knows this and thats why they always shout for H1B
shortage , they NEVER shout for EB visa shortage or just do a lip service
because it looks bad.

I was in a similar, but slightly different, situation. I got my 3 year extension while my previous extension was still valid (a couple of days left).
So at the POE, the officer gave me on the I-94 a date that was 3 years from the date of entry (that's the max their system was designed to handle) and said that since I have the visa on the passport, the next time I reenter I would get the later date on the I-94.
Thanks fromnaija!
I just wanted to confirm this is possible and if somebody has any experience in doing this.

If one changes from EB3 to EB2, then priority date is lost!
Karthik,
(I am not expert) but I believe , you have to refile (New application) under EB2 catagory and port the EB3 date to EB2.

When I met the staff at my congresswoman's office. They were taken aback when I mentioned that I have been in the country "LEGALLY" for the last 12 years and have not recieved my green card. They had no clue that there was a huge backlog. So YES! technically they are aware of the employment based immigration process. What they are unaware of is that there are so many of us stuck in limbo
Now, Yes we are not voters. So they have no incentive to take up our cause. But when the bill does come up for discussion, we want them to be sympathetic to our provisions and know there are people in their constituencies that will benefit. In the past they just yanked out our provisions.
That is why we need to show up at their offices and educate them (Meaning show them we live in their constituency and are affected).

I applied for my H1B 9th year extension using I-140 substitution in 10th March 2008. My 8th year H1B was expired on 14th April 2008. Currently my 9th year H1B extension was is in pending status. Unfortunately my I-140 was denied on 18th April 2008 due to 4 years Bachelors degree.
I used PERM EB2 labor substitution (May 2006 PD) and filed I-140 in July 2007 and denied (NSC) directly with out RFE. This is due to 4 years bachelor's degree and I have 10+2+3(Diploma) +3 (engineering-AMIE). I already applied my 485, EAD and AP. I got AP and EAD, but didnt use it.
Now how can I get my 9th year extension?
Can I appeal for I-140 and get 9th year H1B extension?
Could you please give me your valuable suggestions on this?
Thanks,
Naga
yes, you cna appeal the decision and get another years extension. Better file another LC in PERM asap for next years extension in case the appeal also is denied

If i change to a different job profile (engineering to marketing; in the same company though) obviously, AC21 cannot be invoked. am i going to lose the current benefits of I485 (like EAD and AP) while i file for a completely new LC,I-140 and I485?

I have the same issue. My wife I-94 was issued based on her passport expiry date and not on her I-797 expiry date. I called up my attorney and she told that the best way to deal with this issue is to travel out of the country. If anybody had renewed it without making a travel, please post here.

Please don't travel thru countries that impose this ridiculous transit Visa requirement on individuals, especially from India.
I stopped traveling through countries that impose transit visa; Eventually, transit visa requirement will be lifted, if no one flies.

This is also key for people having questions about travel on AP:
AILA requests that USCIS confirm in a policy memorandum that an individual whose application for adjustment of status remains pending is lawfully present in the United States regardless of the fact that the individuals advance parole related Form I-94 may have expired.
Response: No unlawful presence begins to accrue upon the expiration of an I-94 where the subject of the I-94 has an I-485 properly pending before USCIS.
We will review whether your concerns warrant clarification in the form of a policy memorandum.

All of of this, writing to the president, congressman/congresswoman are fine, but PLEASE, PLEASE make sure, that the following are adhered to:
(1) Address the President as "Honorable Mr. President", and not "Hello Mr. Obama"
(2) Please please please apply spell check and make sure that your letter/email/fax is grammatically correct. All of us claim to be "best and brightest" and "highly educated", but having seen the composition skills and grammar usage of a lot of us here, on IV, I would higly recommend having another person, who is more competent in the PROPER use of English language, take a look at whatever you write.
(3) It would make sense to send letters (several thousands of them, if possible), to the President, on the same day. Even if a handful of these letters make it to his desk, each with same/similar content, but from different people, he just might notice it enough.

Hi,
If you have used the H1 approval to go out of the country and get the visa stamped and then come back in, the white I-94 given at the airport supersedes the one in the H1 approval. That is the core issue.
Regarding an earlier question, you can contact any local "international" airport - in my case, my port of entry was Detroit, but I got the correction done in Cleveland.

I don't know if I didn't understand this right but one of my friends came to U.S like 5 yrs back in 2002.
Never left the country fo far.
She came on H4 and at that time her I-94 was till Apr/2005.
She got H1 in 2004 with new I-94 till May/2007.
Got her H1 extension( with new I-94 dates.)
The I-94 she got at the port of entry expired but her employer told her it is not a problem as her H1 has a I-94 with new dates.
I know in your cases(s) you have passport expiry thing. But I guess it's still the same right. I gues your H1 will have new I-94 in it .So what is the descrepency?
Please let me know .
Thank you.

Visa Stamp in Passport: 13-Jan-2007 (I94 in passport expires on 1/13/07)
Current I-797 : From 02/24/2006 to 04-Jun-2007
3-Year extension based on I-140 from: 05-Jun-2007 to 04-Jun-2010
In this scenario, if I goto India, say in Feb, get my visa stamping done, what will be the validity of my visa in the passport?
1. 05-Jun-2007 to 04-Jun-2010 as stated in my 3-yr extension or
2. the date I went for interview till 04-Jun-2010??
If its the former, then how can I get into US during March '07 as there will be a gap in my visa dates in the passport?
I will send the same questions to my attorney but would like to know before hand, just in case, if my attorney tries to act smart :(
Thanks in advance for your responses...

My plan is making the following
Movie - A full length feature with characters that represent our life (includes H1 to GC process) in US with humor
Documentary - A professional documentary on our issues like H1 quota problems, GC backlog processing etc.
Any other thoughts from your side would help.
Suggestion: Let Corporate America handle H1B quota. They don't need our help. Tying up H1B with GC is only hurting us. We are in IV for GC issues.

Ron is a very good person and a very competitive attorney. RK's charge was (very high) for main applicant and (still high) extra for each of the dependents. (This was on his website. check with him before you blindly believe me. Murthy never replied to my email, most likely interested only in corp clients I guess.) This was way more than I could have afford. RG charged only (fraction of what RK charges) for entire family and he offers superior service. I am 200% satisfied. I recommended him to many of my close friends for AC-21.

As per my lawyer
All you need is the job title and the duties for AC21. At the time when we filed your labor application, we did not use SOC code. The code was assigned by State Wage Unit when they determined the prevailing wage. They did not care what the job title was. Rather, they determined it based on the acceptable field of study to maximize the salary required. Consequently, it often did not match with the job title on the application.
Like I mentioned above, the occ code as assigned by SESA may not match the job description on the application. It is the risk you will take if you followed the occ code to find your job title and/or skills.

That is the point. It was not of your own volition.
Also, there is no rule that says citizenship is not available to people who do not work for the sponsoring employer for a certai nperiod of time after GC approval. It is just good practice to stick around for a few months after approval, but it is not law.
You will have no trouble. Change your status from bittersweet to sweet and have fun. Also, good luck finding a new job.
Thanks! I have a job already (my bills cannot wait for USCIS) Thanks, thanks thanks thanks!!!
