In my earlier post, I dint mean to say that all Kinkos are bad, its just the particular one near me was not good enough. The photos were as if they were taken with a yellow filter on their lenses.
Sears did a very good job instead.
You can just tell them that you need photos for passport. They are the same requirements
Think it this way, your photo might be scanned by their machine to be printed on visa/notice. If the photo is not of good quality it might get pixelated after they scan.
So be your own judge, think if you were in USCIS shoes and had to scan a photo and produce it on visa/stamp. They might also use some image recognition softwares for which they require exact speicifications.

Transit Visa need to Travel Via-Germany if you don't have valid Visa or Travelling on AP.
Please who are travelling Via---> Germany should hold Transit visa, if they don't have Valid US Visa or using AP.
I believe this rule came recently, please see below link of German Consulate Website for more information.

IV has the clout now to approach agencies, explain to them our argument and see if we are able to convince them for short-term reliefs. It is just a matter of trying.
I'm smiling. We will certainly try, but the part above (clout etc) would be an overstatement of our current levels of access. :)
Note that these are the same agencies that have been resisting our efforts to get even the most basic breakdown of data.

i second this.
this approach is better known as "attitude of positive expectancy" hoping that things will work out well in the future. It is difficult in this negative world to have this kind of thinking, however if you do, it will get you through your life without losing precious moments of your youth worrying about the future.
all the great leaders and visionaries of the past and present have this attitude as the way of life. something to think about in the midst of darkness surrounding the GC limbo...
I started looking for a house soon after filing for my 485/EAD/AP in August 2007. I finally got a great deal (good price and low fixed mortgage interest rates) on a 14 year home in St Louis and then had to decide whether to wait for the EAD approval before buying the home. I decided to go ahead and buy the home.
My EAD was approved sometime back and looking at the turn of events leading up to buying the house, I realized that there is always an element of risk in committing to long-term investment without a GC. However I am sick and tired of the slow GC process and cannot keep postponing important decisions in life. We need to take risks at some point. I know with a March 2005 EB2 priority date, my dream of getting a GC is still many years away. But postponing important lifestyle decisions for later is too much of a price to pay.

You can revnew your GC after an intial period of 10 years. You are at your free will and wish to remain on your GC. You will be eligible for Naturalization after 5 years. That does not mean that you have to use that oppurtunity.

Regarding the orignal topic, even I have never heard anyone not getting citizenship because of them leaving the GC employer. Personally, I won't wait for six months or even a single day, if I see a better opportunity.

you can get medicals in 2 hours.
Not sure if this is chicago/pittsburgh.
your only option is to find out by calling all numbers in chicago and pittsburgs.
People have flown in from various locations into chicago and got medicals in 2 hours.
also, ask your wife to get the immunization record of mmr and tetanus.
that will make your life easier.
x-ray is mandatory.

HI ..most the CP filers are in US and contribute to Immigration Voice regularly. You can say by mistake or something else some people chose to go for Consular Processing when dates became current and they all are in bad shape at this time. If you think about those who applied for Cp being in US then you would realise 485 filers are too much priviledged in comparison of them.

The disadvantage of not filing for AC21 is if your AoS is approved with USCIS believing that you will be working for the original petitioner after approval.
That is the disadvantage. USCIS will not know that you intended to port to new employer by invoking AC21 and come the time your apply for Naturalization, USCIS will discover it and may suspect you of fraud.

It is very simple. The completion of degree occurs only when any one passes all qualifying examinations. Without passing the sublimental exam, you are not qualifed to recive a degree. You latest exam was in 2002. Therefore you completed all qualifying exam only in 2002. Therefore you obtained the degree only in 2002.
Therefore you must produce the 5 year exp certificate after 2002. If not, convert it to EB3.
At this time the best option is request them to convert to EB3. Apply another PERM LC with EB3 and file 140 quickly, in case they deny your request to convert to EB3. Dont give up your H1 and H4 status till 140 get resolved.

I just don't like the tone of after getting work with a valid permit, then suddenly, one turns against those who are applying for work permit for the fear that they may take his job.
The anti-immigrants also fear that the immigrants are taking their jobs or lowering their wages atleast.

This means during my stay in US, around 3.5 million people have got GC, but I still never had problem in finding job with H1. Yes it is more difficult but definately possible. As someone mentioned , as long as one brings skills on table, the person will have job.
Most of the July filers have 140 approved and working in a full time job.So I think there will be little impact.

I've the feeling that that's it we made our point but we are still with no GC, waiting receipts..............
