If the Immigration Officer is kind enough you can ask if the Name Check is cleared. If he/she says No, you can ask him/her the date it was sent to the FBI.
I called today and they couldnt tell me anything at the 800 number they just said that they would contact me if they needed any information.... guess I just sit tight for now!

THe reason USCIS is showing low numbers for the reason that , no one will then raise the question for recpature. Looking at the numbers they will say, O, the numbers are so low, whats the need for recapture and we will be left hanging cold and dry.

Has your I-485 been approved or you have got an RFE?
Well I got RFE then within a week got Card Production ordered email then within 12 hrs got mail undelivered email..
I have not replied to RFE yet.
Contacted USCIS but *** they are telling talk to Post office :eek:

I am a july 2nd filer and filed my second application on Aug 15th.
Now that I have got receipts for July 2nd applications, I have put stop payments on the checks on Aug 15th application.
My hope is that my 2nd application will not be processed.

Do you think that it's safe to put a stop payment on the check for the second application? I consulted an immigration attorney on that and he thought that it may negatively affect the first application if the second one is rejected. But as a compromise, I have got a very simple and easy way out...I can tell you one thing, I do have a case which does not require any law change but just the interpretation of it.
Make sure that 5882 is successful. If it proceeds, I will back down. It is a shame that among 25K members raising 5K becomes a challenge.
This goes on to show there is no community. If there is not community then I have to look after my interest.

How about going after EAD's, because of the 2007 july fiasco many people were fortunate enough to get an EAD, now they are competing with you in the job market....how about filing a law suit against that ? to cut the competion ....looks like you have plenty of time.

i got my 'decision' email on 10th. But after that nothing. No CPO email/No welcome email/ No LUD.
I am hoping that they didn't let my case 'drop through cracks'. Considering USCIS's way of working I wouldn't be surprised. Will give a week or two more.

Congress have a bigger issue on their plate right now. That is Iraq. I am pretty sure Congress would take up this issue in near future. Make your voice heard to Congress. Then pray to God/Almighty.
We have congress "helping us out" by doing WHAT exactly?? So far we have exactly ONE congresswoman who made a statement. After that no one has even BOTHERED to do anything.
It may be bad publicity for the USCIS, but guess what? NO ONE GIVES A S**T. The USCIS is an INDEPENDANT body and it made a MISTAKE. Everyone makes mistakes, remember?

Hi there,
My app for I485/EAD/AP were sent by 2nd day air to Nebraska center on 04/24/07 and they received it on 04/25 (As per UPS tracking status). But, so far i have not received any receipt numbers for any of the apps for me or my spouse.
Another question, i got my I140 approved from Texas center although filed at NSC (premium processing). Will my I485 apps also be handled by Texas or they are independent?

Say, I have approved I-140 (current PD) from employer A (never worked with). Work with employer B in a different. Now if employer A applies for I-485 and after it is pending for 6 months, Can I invoke AC21 to continue the GC process while still with employer B ?
Also is it possible to have 2 separate I-485 filed from different employers.
I have heard the above is possible. But, I am curious as to how AC21 is interpreted. Isn't AC21 essentially an instrument to change jobs without hampering the GC process. In this case since one is not 'really switching jobs' how will this be treated or possible ?

When he was noting down all my info, I mentioned about LUD on my I-140 (approved) for 8-5-07 and he said.. it does mean anything since they still need to mail applicants receipts no matter what stage is your application is processed under.
Sent my application on Jul 2nd by 9:01 to NSC. Checks not cashed yet. No updates of any kind !!!! Want to find out if anyone else in the same situation. Thanks..
