I really like this idea. Core team should give this a serious thought. As macaca pointed out, it wouldn't make a difference to certain ppl, but should motivate quite a few others.
Is there any way to distinguish contributing members from non-contributing members when they post on forums ... something like adding a field to "Join date", etc. to show whether they are contributing. This will at least persuade some members to contribute out of shame...

ok so essentially this drastic forward movement of dates means that people who have really old PD's will get screwed as the dates will beocome unvailable for a few months and then like 2005 the dates will go back to 1999 and then take another 6 months or 1 year to come back to 2001-2002 timeframe.
As much as I want everyone to have the benefit of EAD/AP with this date movement, this date movement is going to create serious trouble for those who got stuck in BEC's. Either they won't have the opportunity to apply 485 because they are still stuck or if they managed to file 485 after years of agony they will be stuck in 140/485 queues. Ahhh the wonderful pain of US green card. Sometimes it makes you wonder how much worth it really is :(
They wont adjudicate the applications until the quota for your country and category becomes current for your PD.

They are processing based on RD not PD. I have early 2004 PD but RD is JULY 30, I guess I have wait for a while.

Call 1-800-375-5283, follow the prompt to talk to someone (select the option 'your case is outside the processing time') and tell the person that you want to open a service request (SR) for your case. You should have your receipt in front of you when you call.

First of all...Hats off to IV for doing an incredible job !!!
My labor has been collecting dust in the Dallas BEC since 2001, my PD is Nov 2001, non-RIR. The online system still states that my case is in process. I am equally frustrated like all my fellow BEC victims, but I think there is no reason to feel left out or unhappy just because some people could jump the queue and get in front of us. The best we can do is congratulate them on their good fortune and hope that the DOL sticks to their deadline and clear all BEC cases by sep. If they miss the sep deadline (i wont be surprised if they do), I guess IV can help us in organising another flower campaign or a rally based on the recent success.
Lets keep the faith and stay the course !!!

Please call all of them. They asked me whether I was from district or particular organization, and I said I am not from the district but I am a member of Immigration Voice and they have taken down my message.
the person who took the phone asked where are you calling from? I think they care for calls only from the rep's distrcit? Also would verbal messages to any staff be sufficent? no fax?

EB1 spillover may never come for some time in the future. The Indian IT companies are applying under EB1 for their PMs and Senior PMs (req: BS in any discipline + 6-7 yrs exp), labeling them as multi-national executives. They are also making the employee pay for the 140 and 485 so that the financial impact is reduced a lot by a potential rejection of the 140.
This is as much BS as labor sub. I think everybody here knows how tough it is to get EB1 classification for researchers. But what scrutiny is there for these "multi-national executives" ? All they have to do is spend some time in India or any other country as a PM or SPM, come to the US on H1B and promptly apply under EB1. :mad:

Goal = 5000 votes on survey (see I-485 filing w/o current PD thread) and momentum to continue with this campaign.The survey is a platform to gather and push for launching action items. Based on response by 04/30/2011 - IV will decide whether to even proceed with initiative or not.
Actions - 1) Vote on survey.
2)Email ivcoordinator@gmail.com with PD, ph#,email & subject "I485 filing impacted�,
3)Print/Circulate Fliers and spread FB, wiki link (see "support thread")
what the law is; is that greencard is for future position. who you are working with/where you live, what your status is; is totally irrelevant.
the company is probably advertising the position in california and that is where the job opportunity is. If it doesn't allow for travel then company is saying that is where you are going to permanently work.
Where you are currently doesn't matter within the law.
however, in the last few months; department of labor in audit requests has stated that job opportunity is at xx location but person address is at xxx and to explain the discrepancy. I haven't seen this type of query recently but your lawyer is probably thinking about getting this type of query.

IV may not be ditching EB3, but I cannot understand why IV is quiet about the new bill that that is introduced in the house and is referred to the judiciary committee. This bill may be a political drama, but there is no reason why we should not create awareness. I personally think if this gets media attention, this will do good than harm. Especially since the AZ immigration, DOJ lawsuit etc.. are in the news these days. This bill is for legal immigration and we should support it to the best we can.

I paper filed EAD renewal two times...took 2-3 months to get card in hand..
This time I tool chance and did efile...in 1 week (yes one week)..I see card production ordered status online..
There is no doubt about address etc..u get address on the receipt...
Hope this help..
Only catch is that I have seen status online...will post once I receive card in had..
