Every one got a nice GPL again this month - yet no one really wants to do anything... why?
Because "Chal raha hai to chalne do" ... the usual Desi mentality...
All this sounds crude - but its true. Truth is almost always bitter... like the VB every month!
I just donated to IV ... gimme REDs if you want, I care the least ... all I really care about is the GREEN (card)...
Good luck fellowmen, we are all together in this boat - all we need is a mass awakening for the lawmakers to our state of being!

Advocacy is a long term process that requires lot of efforts and resources. We should not be expecting quick results because of one month's contribution. That is peanuts when you compare it with the amount being spent against us.
It is high time people join the state chapters and try to lead them if your state chapter is dormant or inactive. Action items will happen but we need to be ready. Try to get more people in IV. The mantra for success will be mass participation in the coming times. It should not be a couple of hundred phone calls or faxes that happened last year, but hundreds of thousands of calls, faxes and thousands of meetings.
If we can achieve that then we will definitely increase chances of success significantly this year.
This community needs to think how it can increase mass participation on IV and bring everyone waiting in line on IV platform.

Thought I'll add to this - There are many immigration and lawyer sites out there.
Most free forums would like to increase hits, by spreading misleading information and having a paid member incite arguments, spread rumors - the popular porting one, or India, China, ROW one, to generate more hits. thats how they make money.
Its time for people to look beyond all that and do the only real thing that works - That is meeting law makers.

This is our only real chance until 2013.

Various reasons...time...schedule...other obligations etc...lack of readily available information on IV as an organisation or state chapter....too many steps to do simple things like joining the state chapter :)
ya some of the reasons seem ridiculous...but even small things easily hinder people who already have a busy life. They create mental barriers...where such tasks are just postponed rather than handled in an instant.
I am trying to get more of IV core members to take these small things seriously and have even offered to help in this regard.

EB3 ROW is at Jun 2004. But as per latest USCIS inventory, EB3 ROW pending 485's are around 48,000. Visa numbers available every year for EB3 is approximately 42k. If you deduct the backlogged EB3 countries (4x3000) visa numbers, the total comes down to 30k for EB3 ROW. So EB3 ROW should become current or atleast Jul 07 in another 1.5 years. If this is not going to happen, it means they are diverting the EB3 numbers to some other categories.

new one is lower case i-765instr.pdf and the older one is upper case I-765instr.pdf
check the revision date at the bottom, they are different. also check the 'where to file' section on page 8.

The above are my case updates. I just wanted to check one more thing. When i got my FP request the center on it was MSC. Has the same happened with anyone else.
The last LUD i had on my e-filed EAD was 6/5.

Can anybody breakdown the PERM application process from start to finish with an approximate timeline for each portion please. This is assuming that the person is just requesting his employer to apply labor via PERM and should include the advertising period.

I called all the numbers and talked to congressional staffers. I was lucky that i got to talk to a person and not VM.
Many of them assured me that congressman is supportive of the immigration issues and will probably support the bills. Two of the staffers took my home address.
It is my first time calling congressmen offices and i was surprised to find it fairly easy :)

"Also the EB queue needs to be considered while moving to the skill based one" - I don't know what you meant by this line but I am in no mood to restart my GC application (for which I have been waiting for the past 9 years) just because some genius (whoever that person was) woke up one morning and decided that all the applications need to be reformed into a points based system.
Of course we are all in the EB queues. I don't want to discuss details of any campaigns in the public forum. You could volunteer for this too and suggest your ideas to 'StarSun' and clear your doubts.

Few years back, someone at USCIS, changed the good old horizontal spillover to new vertical spillover just like that (probably on some new-bee intern's suggestion). Without any legislation change, or CIR, or admin fix...
Same way, USCIS can change it back to old horizontal spillover, and EB3-I will start seeing ~15K-~20K again every year.
We should try to re-introduce this concept of horizontal spillover back in USCIS's mind.
Ok. We all agree that EB3 India is in bad shape and needs help.
Some of us are managers/team leaders. Others have leadership skills and want to be managers in the near future.
If you are a CEO what would you do to solve the EB3 India issue.
Please present your ideas here. Just the ideas.
Dont shoot down others ideas.
Remember you ideas should be similar to a CEO.
Show your leadership skills.

AFAIK they dont issue Interim EAD's any more.
I think this practise was stopped in 2007.
70 Days for me and waiting..........

I still have 55 or so days till my current EAD expires but I am very concerned now that I will have to stop working on Sep 30. My current employer is a large public school system and I do not think they will allow me to start working on august 25th without new EAD. I am going crazy here... already signed a new contract but dont know what to do...:eek::eek:

I e-filed on 2nd June at TSC and around 22nd June, I went for FP. I received CPO email yesterday. I had not seen any LUD after FP. I guess, calling USCIS helps so please keep calling and request them that you need EAD badly. I remember , a couple of days back when I was talking to an lady IO, she said, she can send a request to IO but there is no guarantee that it will help. I guess, that might have made difference. So I would strongly suggest to keep talking to them.
