It seems that i can file tax using form 4852....but to do if he send legal notice claiming that i have made losses to him worth 25 K....i had good relation with client , gave app notice and also have refe letter from client (received award form client)..........so there shud be no point for liquidation thing and also i have all previous employers emails acepting my receignation and notice period...
If your employer paid taxes on behalf of you , he must have recieved w2.If he doesn't give w2 to you , you can call IRS and request for one , they'll fax/mail it to you.I did it once and filed taxes.
He may be threatening you about legal notice, but I don't think he'll send notice.You can think what to do when recieve a notice.

I believe Mbhai did a dis-service by negating good advice. What is the guarantee that the 2nd women that this guy marries will not ask for divorce? The best thing he can do is find a way to reconcile, unless there is marital infidility.

Man, I-485 for Texas went back more than a month. It's so bad, they might as well not have published it, one would have slept better at night.
How do they come up with these dates? Weren't they supposed to process I-485 applications in the order they received them?
And how come the California Service Center has been doing so well this past few months, while all the other centers have been stationary or going back. CSC is at January 2007 now, fer cryin' out loud!

We have been calling and talking to ppl all over new england area.
But we have hardly been able to get a convincing number of ppl to attend the rally.
Have you watched the bus thread for New England Area. 26 votes, can you believe that.
We definitely need to get more innovative. I dont know what ppl want, so they can be motivated.
Sometimes i think being educated is a curse, as ppl become more scared and are fine adapting to the system.
Look at the ILLEGALS at least they came out openly. They dared to come forward and i am sure they will be rewarded sooner.
LEGAL ppl who have nothing to fear are then also they are more scared to do anything. So this is the right time for me to express my opinion LEGALS ARE FOOLS.
Please dont be mad at me, i am just frustuated with ppl responses, but one thing for sure, i will keep on motivating ppl in whichever way i can do.
I have an idea how abt asking the hispanic community to be a part of this rally, they would definitively oblige more easily than our own i guess"" just kidding:)

I personally do not know of anyone who has attempted admission into a University with a CA.
Professors expert letters range up to $900.00+ with most firms. We rarely charge more than $550.00 Each case is different and it depends on the research needed.
In India, only UGC (University Grant Commission) is qualified to issue equivalency letters. Professor letter can be supplemental, but it can not be authentic certification, as UGC is only one to issue that.

This question was explictly asked by AILA to CIS in one of their monthly calls and CIS said they would get back on this. In other words, at that time, their position on this was not even clear to them.
This is why we see conflicting opinions on this topic from different attorneys. Some say the H-1 is gone and some say it is not.
Personally, I think it is possible to use both simultaneously and I think some people are already doing it.

I read the document and here's what I think is the important part:
In a subset of these

This means that only a part of those 47k applications are pending for more than 180 days. This doesn't say they will approve 47k in March.
Why mid March? Well that's the time of the month when the VB will be published so I'm curious to see how the April VB will look like.

To go one step further on your point, the whole world should have a better understanding and expectation of employment-based immigration to America. When the fact is out, it is really up to the indivdual to make an informed decision without complainting.
here is the reality:
you came here thinking they will love you because of your math skills.
what actually happened: they took all the credit, and 10-15 years of your career without letting you progress.
we got screwed, plain and simple, by the dreams they showed us. we did not read the fine print. that is why we are half lawyers now.
make sure you teach your children to read the fine print. and try to gauge the intentions of those who are showing you dreams.
this is the same country which talked of equality and fraternity of man and then quietly removed colored people from the definition of humans, and legally accepted slavery.

Now in America there is a lot of work which needs experienced and highly skilled worker and we have EB2 for that, apart from that we still have a lot of work which requires hitech skilled worker and for that we have Eb3. So by the definition system has already identified the need and have representation for those.
And secondly you have problem with those who came legally and are highly skilled and have followed all the rules since day 1, counts less that 1 million, you are not willing to give them GC on other hand there are 12M (actually 20 M) who can't even write their names in English and everybody is ready to give them GC even the president of US is ready.
Doesn't that give signal that US is pro illegal and anti-legal immigration.... think about it

I just called USCIS customer service to get it clarified for my case - applied 485 in July 07 and used AC21 in Aug 08. My 485 got approved Aug 6th 2010.
The first level officer said I am free switch. When I told that I have heard I have to stick to my current employer for 6 months or so, she put me on hold to check with supervisor. Then transferred me to 2nd level IO.
After almost 1hr wait, the second level IO confirmed I am free to switch. She got my receipt no and checked the status and mentioned I should get my card in week or two and I am free to switch.
Again, as mentioned I already invoked AC21. It will be good to hear from ppl who have not and if it makes any difference.

Here are the SS eligibility requirements: http://permanent.access.gpo.gov/lps4345/11001.html
Based on this, GC holders with 40 work credits (that is, 10 years of US work experience) and reside in any of the 50 US states are eligible for SS, if they satisfy age and other requirements. So one doesn't need to be a US citizen to get SS benefits.
It's a different story that by the time, we all become 65, the SS coffers will be empty. Of course, I wish no one is in a position where they need SS to survive.

but isnt this the reason for LC advertising? That is, if a USC or permanent resident applies he should be given preference over an immigrant. By that rationale I am not so sure it is illegal.
Also, many large companies, when applying for jobs on their websites, mandatorily require you to state your visa status. While self-identification (race, sex) is always optional and cannot be required (by law, there will always be a statement that says submission of this info is voluntary).
They cannot ask it if it is illegal, and clearly this information is used in the employment process.
So, I am not so sure this is illegal.

As such companies don't really discriminate. They want good people for work. Most times it is the reqruiters who post these ads. Reqruiters post ads like * must be citizen, must be local to New York* etc... Even for L/C ads, I don't think there is a need to mention preference for citizens - though I am not sure about this.
If prefering US citizens is discriminatory, I am sure a bill will be easily passed to make such postings valid and legal :)
