Is there any way to distinguish contributing members from non-contributing members when they post on forums ... something like adding a field to "Join date", etc. to show whether they are contributing. This will at least persuade some members to contribute out of shame...
Members, please contribute... some of you may be thinking that why contribute if we are not yet ready to file I-485... But, just think that getting the bill passed now will definitely help you in the future... I am still at my LC stage and it is currently rotting in PBEC - but I decided to contribute because I want to be in a better position when I get to 485 stage...

Hi Admins,

If that is possible, I would like your comments on whether it is a good idea to request online members on a regular basis to join the Add ONE member campaign via broadcast messages.
Also, I was wondering if the IV newsletter has been emailed out to the members. I have not received it (checked and made sure that the email I gave out is correct). I ask this because, one of the moderators has assured me that the 'Add ONE member' campaign would be highlighted in the newsletter. Has this happened?

Of course the plan is not to imitate what Canada has directly, I'm sure the current job offer would have a big role, it does in canada too to a certain extent.
Also the EB queue needs to be considered while moving to the skill based one.

I am quite confused. My date is June 2002 first week .

It could take 2 years at the earliest, more like 3-4 years. Do not quote me- this is just a guesstimate. Nobody knows. Better to file EB2 and interfile 140 & 485 using EB3 pd.

1. Bill applies to anyone who got their degree in preceding 5 years or resided legally since graduating (even greater than 5 years) will be eligible under this bill.
2. Many ROW EB2 and EB3 will get visa number from the 55K if they have advanced degree here. That means more spillover.

4. There are going to be more Indian and Chinese apply for EB2? Not that easy any more. The DOL is tougher than before on PERM application. I don't believe there are going to be 55K more new EB2 applicants each year. No matter whether there is additional 55k, people are always trying to applying for Eb2 if there can. As we don't see that many new EB2 now, I don't believe we will get that many new Eb2 later either. Plus, the bill does not say the 55K visa will only go to EB2.
5. What else can we do then? It is already very tough to push this bill through. Should we modify the bill by saying that just simply applying the 55K to everyone, no matter if he/she has advanced degree? I am perfectly OK with that if the IV core think it is a better idea. They are the best minds and make the most money and add the most to the US economy while guys who are working in US are are well lets just say not usefull to the economy and just taking free money. Labor filed in Aug 2002, approved after 6 years in June 2007. Meanwhile, our son aged out in June 2004. Daughter turned 21 today, and her I-485 adjustment application is in the July 2 logjam.

100% agree with confidence. My prediction based on statistical analysis (That is the only thing I have regulary done since 1999 and still doing .. no end to this tunnel...:eek:) is as under. Yopu would see +- 2 months here and there in every bulletin.

All my colleagues had house.
I was tired of moving from apartment to apartment , nodding to apartment rules, parking problems, twice brake-in's , small kitchens /bedrooms . Crowded common amenities etc.
Buying house has sure maintenance pain, but few pains give fun.
I donot have to worry about rising apartment rents vs steady mortgage payments ( According to my calculation ,owning is cheaper ,lot cheaper in long run )
Well, I am in Dallas,TX...so things are roomy and cheap here.

when is yr EAD expiring ? what about H1 -- if you have given up that then there is not much that you can do ..other than infopass etc. I think logically speaking ,,I should be getting EAD the fastest (there are few more like me) ..who go card prod ordered in june ..so as soon as I get it ..I will post here.

as for me ..I have a plan B ...unpaid vacation ...one of my friends had told me once ...you shd enjoy life along the road and not at the end of it :D ..USCIS is doing that for me
It is expiring on Sep 19th and I dont have H1. Im not concerned about taking unpaid vacation, but the real issue is if my employer will continue to keep me in the job. It would be really scary trying to find a new job in this market. So far I have not alerted or gave any hint to my employer. I will see when the time comes.
But the sad part is that USCIS is working in a erratic way and there is no way to find out what exactly the situation is about a particular case.

I have received messages from people who have been here around 10 years without a GC. I wonder how common this is. What do you think about proposing a "fast track" for people who have been here legally for more than a certain amount of time?

I am here in usa for the past 10 years.my I140 got denied last year and the MTR wait time is 20months. The RFE before denial was "ability to pay" . Even after producing all the documents requested by USCIS the I-140 got denied.
I started my GC process again by joining other company but Since My I140 is denied I am in the queue again from the first step the labor process, losing , sept2002 -EB2 priority date.
The get the status of MTR we need to wait for 20 months. 13 months more for me.
1.If you are able to get fast track for MTR s for I140, that is great.Justice delayed is justice denied.
2.Is there any way getting the priority date irrespective of I140 status.
3.what about automatic conversion of EB3 into EB2 if the application is at AOS is pending for 3 years.

Its a classical case of too many people and very few visa#. Every one has a valid point
1) One group says I have oldest PD I am waiting since 8 years so I need to get GC
2) Second says I have a better category (EB1 & EB2) so I need to be given preference
3) Third group says I was qualified for EB2 but company & lawyer pushed me to EB3
4) Fourth group Say I have MS PhD from US so preference is mine

u mean the old Passport ? Yes, my old one was issued in India (vizag).
renewal applied by mail to CG SFO, got the new one to my mailing address in US, on the fifth day.
the 10 days estimate they are giving might be including the buffer time for contingencies and
contacting vizag might be the worst case scenario they are telling, but most probably not needed.
i later learned that, u can renew ur PP in India in 3 days, with Tatkal.
