This is a "do nothing" congress. They dont care about immigration reforms as this doesnt have immediate affects. Frankly i have no hope. Nothing is going to happen till summer of next year.

I can guarantee that u r screwed for next 3+ years if it was EB2 and next 6+ years if it was EB3.

Give the guy a break...he's just asking around as to what his options are... besides, one can't 'GUARANTEE' for how long a period of time one would have to wait as far as priority dates are concerned. The July Fiasco confirmed that, if anything...I agree that the rally is very important in making further strides, however there's no reason to be so harsh...

gcseeker, u just spoke my mind, this was exactly what was going in my mind, when i decided not to take transit visa. i just cant believe, there is another soul who thinks just the way, i thought, look at my PD, came to US in 1999, still no GC after 12 years, planning to leave back to india for good, this year..oh well, life goes on..
vishwak, dont consider my seniority by number of posts. As is I am going through so much injustice in life, having spent 12 years in this country and still waiting for GC bcos of this stupid EB3 mess, and now the germans decide to harrass me by asking for transit visa ? Not that I dont want to follow rules, but after spending 12 years waiting for GC, I am glad that I broke atleast one rule, of travelling through frankfurt to and from india without the damned transit visa. Of course I was travelling alone, and my family was not travelling , and hence I could risk it out. This does in no way prevent anybody in this forum or the world from not getting transit visa and continue to be opressed by the germans. Folks, I have just told my experience, rest is upto you if you want to get the transit visa .

Considering the current economic situation, i donot expect much progress in addressing country quota elimination/CIR's.
We should atleast try to get our issues addressed in bits and pieces. Overall, anything to address retrogression should be welcomed! rather than 'debate and beat the horse to death.'

I have contacted local lawmakers and was told that one office is sending a letter to the White House. However, I was not able to get a copy of the letter so I am not sure if that will really happen. I have asked my employer to send a letter as well. I have sent a letter to IV and White House today and have sent out a template to all friends and family in hopes that several of them will send in letters on my behalf. I know of three people that have done it thus far.

No. I am not an employee of any of the companies named in H1B visa fraud last week. The current employer is my the sponserer of my H1 B visa and also my first employer . I did not change my employer.
This does sound strange, do you know what was the reason for this officer's visit to your employer two months back? also, i would suggest make sure all your paper work is fine, I mean LCA etc. indicating your correct place of work and right wages.

According to LC, my labor got approved on Aug 9th, but we received actual paper on Sep 9th .. So lost the chance to FILE 485
DOL took more than a month TO send papers ..
There is no point in blaming IV . They are the BEST ..
It is US Govt agencies who are lazy and ineptitude.
US did not get Civil Rights in one year .. it took decades of fight ...
IV is fighting for every one ..

ramus, follow my posts in the past 20 days and you will see i have posted many posts for this AP expedite. I have a travel coming up shortly and I had only exactly 90 days from the date of application and date of travel. My application was approved recently along with my spouse. There is even a post where I listed out all the steps I took to expedite and finally finally only the local congressman phone to USCIS helped. its just unbelievable, but its possible. I have tickets that even if you postpone the journey I will lose money. I said to myself enough we lose with USCIS, and so decided to take all and any steps to expedite and get it done. just follow my posts (like start reading my past 20 posts) and I am sure you will find it useful. u know what, gcseeker2002 is correct to the dot. we do not need a transit visa while coming thru germany in lufthansa. no one even mentions that word. i called and emailed the german consulate b4 i flew out of US, all people including german consulate, travel agent (2 of them),, mentioned that i require it and still i travelled back without it. no one mentioned that word. trust me guys, u wont require it, i just came 10 days ago just with AP.
NOTE : I also recd such emails from German consulate.

This is new rule implemented and by thinking you as senior if someone goes and faces problem will you be responsible. So please don't do this boss.

German Cosulate Rep at DC: You wrote that your visa for the United States already expired in September 2010. Therefore you do not fall under Exception Nr. 2. This exception is meant for persons travelling to the US holding a valid US-visa (e.g. a visitors visa with one entry) on their way travelling to the US (Exception 1) and travelling back to their home country during the validity dates of this same visa, but already having used it for entering the US (Exception2) . I hope this clarifies your additional question. I suggest that you apply for an Airport Transit Visa as soon as possible to avoid any problems when travelling back to India via Frankfurt airport.

i would recommend the following strategy:
1. file a case of harrassment with the state DOL / agency.
2. contact an immig attorney and have them 'on your side'
3. contact the IRS via registered mail and document your case, with FACTS, not OPINIONS or EMOTIONS. send a copy of the IRS letter to the State DOL.
4. further, file a complaint with the DOJ (if applicable). check out their Website.
5. finally, send a 30 day demand note (if applicable in your state) stating YOUR demands against the former employer, asking for immediate cessation of all activities which can be considered as coercive, amounting to emotional stress and harrassment. if possible, get a Doctor's medical advice and keep that on record.
6. eventually, think about getting a lawyer to do this case 'pro bono' . some might do if you can get good local press about thsi case and effectively 'market the lawyers costlessly'. of course, all privacy goes out of the window.
