I am not sure. Here is what my opinion is :
I think he posts spicy messages on his forum to market himself. He uses strong language against USCIS to gain support from his prospective clients.
Has he ever stood up for immigrants other than writing strong worded posts? Give me examples as I do not know any? I may be wrong in my assumption.
He's a lawyer, a businessman, not an applicant nor a politician. So expecting him to stand up for anything but his business is lunacy.
I can say one thing though, I haven't see any lawyer going about providing free advice like he does. I visit his site pretty much everyday and he is very active in responding to people's queries on the forums. I think that says a lot about him. I am not sure what your "spicy messages" reference is. I understand that Immigration bill is not an easy one to pass. If it is being introduced again, hopefully they are not going to have the exact same wordings. I am sure they would have learnt something from the previous failures and come to some agreeable compromise.
So i think it is good to have some hope and work towards making it happen. Lets not worry about failure. We have nothing much to lose.
In the 2006 CIR was passed by Senate and it failed in Congress.
The strategy was adding poison pill. They deliberately added so many poison pill that
even EB folks were opposing the bill.

I just called USCIS customer service to get it clarified for my case - applied 485 in July 07 and used AC21 in Aug 08. My 485 got approved Aug 6th 2010.
The first level officer said I am free switch. When I told that I have heard I have to stick to my current employer for 6 months or so, she put me on hold to check with supervisor. Then transferred me to 2nd level IO.
After almost 1hr wait, the second level IO confirmed I am free to switch. She got my receipt no and checked the status and mentioned I should get my card in week or two and I am free to switch.
Again, as mentioned I already invoked AC21. It will be good to hear from ppl who have not and if it makes any difference.

....I am not sure why someone is portraying Infy or Wipro as companies that go for "Easy money..." that's completely ridiculous. Agreed they are not doing lots of so called high-end R & D projects and majority of thier revenue is still from service industry. But that does not make these companies any lesser.
I am not sure how much insight you guys got into these companies, but they are doing quite a lot of good assignments. Also, the processes they got in place & the maturity they show in execution of assignments is definitely on par with any other software services company in the world.
Probably a bunch of you folks are frustrated with these companies because the billing rates are driven down & opportunites in US (for consultants) are becoming less due to these companies' offshore model - but that does not make these companies shallow as you are trying to portray.
PS: I am not an employee with either of these companies. FOr that matter, none of these offshore-based companies. But the facts are to be accepted.

I meet many workers from these "great" companies at my workplace and see them being treated just as "low cost alternatives" and nothing else by this huge financial company in NY/NJ area. Because of their (INFY, TATA, Wipro, Satyam) "low billing rates" these guys cant afford good lifestyle. And back home in India INFY and TATA CEOs make billions and talk BIG. I've not met any TATA, Satyam guy here who is happy with their employer. They just hate their employers and always looking for a change. I wonder where they stand in terms of employee satisfaction? They treat their people like slave and send them as low cost labor. Not only that - they exploit US immigration rules and make use of L1 to keep their people long term at cliant place when they dont get enough H1.

Do you have 10+3 (Diploma)+1 or 10+2+3(Diploma)+1. If the second case, is 10+2 a requirement for enrolling in to the diploma ?

There are many people from these Indian Outsourcing companies who are switching to US comanies or even to local desi bodyshopping companies for various reasons...Like the ones below
1) If you are in US onsite, there is no guarantee that you would be onsite for the prolonged period you want. When the business need arises, you will have to go back at short notice. Most of the people quit these companies in US due to that reason alone.
2) They don't process GCs in general (very limited cases....)
3) Chances are that one may make more money based on the skill-set
However, if people continue to believe that these companies are just sort of "glorified body shoppers", nothing stops them.
But outsourcing is increasingly preferred by US corporates & these outsourcing companies are only going to prosper.....
Just the fact that you make more money outside is a proof of underpay.

Since your situation is aggravated, your wife can apply for F1 visa and come here. How you want to answer visa questions on DS-156 or date your marriage cert is upto you. But all said and done and whatever the morale police on this board have recommended is not really valid because you will be going through all of this and not these people who are giving other suggestions. I really want to ask all these people who say dont backdate marriage cert or dont get her on F1, are you guys angels and have done nothing wrong in your lives or are you just preaching others not to sin?
I think you may have missed the point. The people who were advising the OP weren't necessarily thinking of themselves as angles or as the moral(!e) police, as you politely put it. ;) They may have additional information about a similar situation and maybe trying to help him make the right decision. If you know somebody who tried to backdate a Marriage certificate and got wrongfooted by the Consulate maybe you would try and advise future applicants to be a bit more careful too. Or maybe not. Anyway, not saying that's the case here, but there maybe more to the replies than you think.

They worked enough for this year and they have lot to do. According to my guess they have the following pending work.
1. Issue Receipts (Sep/October)
2. Issue EAD cards for approx 300,000 applicants? (October/November/December)
3. Issues AP for 300,000 (October/November/December)
On top of this they need to celebrate thanksgiving and christmas like every citizen. So don't expect too much from them for this year.
If at all there is some momement in EB numbers, that will happen only between Jan-March(before H1-B madness starts).

if she can get the tests done in India, there are USCIS approved doctors in Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Calcutta.
My spouse is landing here on Aug 15. That leaves only one day to get medicals done. Any suggestions on how to handle this ? Can she skip skin test and take X-rays directly ?
