My earlier case was a horrible story, Non-RIR PD Apr 2001, left the firm before it got approved. :-(
Now I need some luck to get the new one through. :-)

I think we are not reaching all the ppl that we can as of yet. If we can setup booths in front of Indian Community centers in various cities, post flyers at Indian grocery stores etc, we would be able to reach a much wider audience. I think we might be reaching the maximum number of ppl that would contribute who are browsing this web site. No amount of requests would get non-contributers to contribute. So, probably the efforts should be concentrated on getting newer members from outside...
Yes this is definately a good idea and will help us reach many people unaware of IV. We represent about a million people stuck in retrogression and have only got 8500 of them.
Pls help us with these efforts by executing your ideas in your own state. Once you start, and tell others what you are doing I am sure many others will follow you. You will find posters and flyers in resources section of this website.

Guys,
What do I make out of this? U think once assigned to an officer thgs shud start moving? Or...even after getting assigned to an IO thgs can go bad? Has any thing of that sort also happened? Just curious so I can be prepared...
Thanx
I don't think so. The only thing that could have happened is that a RFE on any further information. But becuase of the pre-adjudication the chances of an RFE is very very minimal, I will say down to ZERO.
So be happy and just keep your fingers crossed to hear the good news!!!

Funds are what is needed, not mere members. Although at one point I thought the more the members, the more the funds. Oh!. Excuse me, I really did not want to say "Funds" or "Contribution". :D

I agree with you that this isn't just fair to people who are stuck in DOL. People who have been waiting for years together will continue waiting while people who got their PERM approved as recently as this year will file for 485. Where is the justice in this? I guess DOS & USCIS have not clue what they are doing as far as the PD's are considered. Couple of months back they had retrogressed as far as 2001 (EB3) & 2003 (EB2) and now they have all become current. How can this possibly happen?
Few of my friends purchased pre-approved labors paying thousands of dollars (which I don't approve anyways) and now they feel cheated having wasted the money for nothing.
I am happy that at least the recent applicants do not have to go through the ordeal which most of the members of IV had to deal with for few years now. My sincere hope is that they value their GC as much as people who have been stuck in this backlogs. It would be a very ungrateful of them, if they think that getting GC's is a piece of cake and it can be obtained in a year. I hope & pray that PD remains current for few more months so that people stuck in DOL have an opportunity to file their 485's soon.
Agreed, It is very unfortunate for people stuck in backlogs and I feel your pain... But would you rather have seen USCIS waste over 40000 visas by the end of the year without any PD movement (as reported by some on this forum)? We would have had another thread here blasting the inefficiency and unfairness of USCIS.
Bottomline, I would not like to work in USCIS right now.. They are basically damned if they do, damned if they dont. That said, I do hope that BECs get their act together like USCIS is trying to and get everyones labor cleared by the deadline before the next retrogression hits.

We need about 1000 members signing up for the monthly contributions in a month. I am sure we can do that. We have 8000 members and it should be easy. Till now we have only 100 signups
Okay here we go. Here is a goal of having 1000 members on $20 monthly recurring contributions. 1000-100 = Need 900 members. Come on guys. Lets start deducting from this number. if you sign up for minimum $20 recurring, please post and say you did. Then deduct from 1900

I came across this and it seems one IV member has posted this
http://kcdesi.com/kcdesi/index.php?option=com_classifieds&Itemid=56&oglmsg=_OGL_APPROVED
hope other members also do such efforts to help increase IV membership
I posted a similar post at http://www.desiconnectionusa.com/ few days back. I was still thinking if it is a good idea .. now as I see Pappu is saying to make similar efforts, I will probably start a new thread.

I just thought to give a nick name to this thread ...
AMC : Add a Member Campaign. Just bumping up this thread.. I like this idea, it will serve all of our purpose.
Add one more member....and probably each one of them will add another? It will be a bigger team of us if we can kick this idea to work ..and then I am hopeful we will be heard :-)
Yes, I thought of that(a chain reaction sort of) too. But wanted to keep it simple. But we could probably do that on the side without affecting the original campaign.
May be we should own responsibility of the candidate we bring. Make sure that he contributes, then make sure that he submits the right contact info, and finally make sure he does the same (follow AMC bullet points).
I like the idea of an abbreviation.
Everyone please contribute ONE member by December 31st.

Thank you, Totoro for leading this effort. My suggestions are same as gc_dream07, but I would like to reword the suggestion
2) Remove the country cap for employment based immigration (the argument we should put forward is that when it comes to employment based immigration the deciding criteria should be individuals skills now where the individual was born).
3) Capture the unused Visa (Green Cards)
Exactly, it is okay to have country cap for those who are coming in through lottery or for those who come in through family based GCs. But for employment based GCs, it should be the skill that matters, not from which country he comes from.

Can you tell what reasons you had given for the Expedite Request?
I have told them that Im the only bread earner of the family and the cost of living in the area that i live is very high and that I have bills to pay. But they have denied my request. i dont know what other financial hardship should I show them. Maybe I should declare bankruptcy and then send that over to USCIS to show that I really have financial hardship.
I have infopass appointment on 14th I will try to raise the same issue again and see what they will say

Backlog Centers
AJB to AJE
In anticipation of America's Job Bank (AJB) ceasing operations as a recruitment tool, the Backlog Elimination Centers (BECs) will be switching to America's Job Exchange (AJE) as an alternative site for posting recruitment advertisements for backlogged Foreign Labor Certification recruitment activity. AJE is one of the alternatives authorized by the Employment and Training Administration (ETA). The BECs have coordinated with AJE staff and we believe this transition will cause little if any disruption. According to the description provided by AJB, "AJE will offer the same national labor exchange services that AJB provided [using] the same screens and functions as AJB ensuring a seamless transition between sites."
Because AJB is going to stop operations by June 30, 2007, in order to ensure full recruitment periods, the BECs will switch to AJE as of June 1, 2007. Therefore, employers and job seekers will be able to find the job postings on AJE starting on June 1st. Advertisements posted on AJB prior to June 1st will continue on AJB through their full recruitment periods on AJB.
AJE can be found at: http://www.americasjobexchange.com/

...I think a great deal depends on the person at the counter at InfoPass, or the one on the phone in case of NCSC.
I took infopass this Monday at the local Chicago office. The guy basically said he cannot do anything...also said they cannot do anything even if I don't receive the card after 90 days. I then had an SR filed yesterday afternoon by calling NCSC...in this case the guy was nice and he even included my wife's EAD app info on the SR.
EAD e-filed: May 27th
FP: June 19th
First card production ordered email: June 28th
Second card production ordered email: July 29th
I took infopass appoinment for August 1st.

Hi I received from Chinese friend whose has some connections with lobbiests. Nonetheless, that is only for Murray amendment, but not for the HR bills. So please don't stop calling just because of it.
Yes, please keep calling.
The Murray Amendment is only on the Senate side which reportedly has been dropped from the Senate version of Appropriations Bill. What we are campaigning are for the separate stand-alone bills in the House which when passed will go to the Senate.
I am sure that our provision on the Senate side supposedly died because of the AgJobs which gave ammunition to the anti-immigrants to drop all immigration related measures from the Appropriations Bill. Some of us who have been thru this roller-coaster ride before, kinda saw this coming.
Again, please keep calling for the house side relief to our problems.
Thanks.
