Two things about VONAGE:
1. Tax kills the deal. For me its coming more than $31 per month.
2. I searched on google about calls review. Many people are complaining that the call quality is not that good. On peak times, they do face issues.
Still calling unlimited india is a very tempting idea.;)

I personally haven't seen any issues with Call quality. Infact Call quality is excellent.

In my opinion it is very naive to think that USCIS/DOL just realized that they had 'misinterpreted' the law. ..... The ambiguity of the law for the preference of vertical vs. horizontal spill-over allowed them to do that.
In a couple of my previous posts I copied the relevant Sections (Sec. 202 and 203) of the INA which specifically states that distribution should be preferentially horizontal. Both Sections should be read together.
Please note that there is no ambiguity in the law and DOS may just have taken too long to change the US Code or other relevant section of their rules.
I will definitely be willing to change my interpretation if you can show where the ambiguity in the law lies. I'm definitely not a lawyer so it's quite possible that I'm missing some clause in the law.

Interesting policy. A lot of companies do not sponser H1b and GC because of the woes, costs and hastles associated with it, though they would love to hire the right kind of candidate. But this company is ready to pass the right candidate just because they have to provide a letter?

We dont really know what their real apprehensions are behind not interested in hiring an EAD person..
It could be that
-- They had bad experiences in past with EAD people going out of status due to delays in EAD renewal
-- They have an impression that EAD people or like cats on walls...you never know when they will jump ship !
-- They dont have nor dont want to invest in having some kind of immigration expert in the company to help out employees. And feel (probably mistakenly) that taking on an EAD person, means to have to support him more than merely providing an emp. letter when required.
-- May (mistakenly) be assuming that once the EAD guy gets GC he would have to quit and join the original GC sponsoring company etc
But to simply cover their a88e8 they might put up a facade of "not interested in any kind of sponsoring--including providing proofs of employment etc when needed"

Everyone knows that increasing green card numbers will be best solution. In that also if we ask too much we may not get anything. Double the number of annual Gc plus exclude dependents will be enough for reducing retrogession but that may not eliminate. But waiting period of 2 to 3 years can be reasonable for most people. I am sure one more chance will come for increasing H1b numbers. That time we can try for GC increase also.
But I am supporting the flower Campaign for protesting the VB mess up though it will not solve the problem

I don't intent to sound rude, but why would this make your life "Suck", "no social life" , "no carreer life", "no nothing life".
Iam in the same position as everybody else, and am deeply dissapointed with the news (hence Iam here), but I just spend 2 hours in a nice pub, drinking nice micro brews, came home had a nice talk with my wife (H4), we are planning on going out for dinner and maybe watch Knocked up afterwords (heard its nice).
If this were to be true, it would delay our GC by another 2-3 years, but we are in this country on our own free will, making good money. Be dissapointed, but this is not the end of the world..Mantain the perspective...

Say, I have approved I-140 (current PD) from employer A (never worked with). Work with employer B in a different. Now if employer A applies for I-485 and after it is pending for 6 months, Can I invoke AC21 to continue the GC process while still with employer B ?
Also is it possible to have 2 separate I-485 filed from different employers.
I have heard the above is possible. But, I am curious as to how AC21 is interpreted. Isn't AC21 essentially an instrument to change jobs without hampering the GC process. In this case since one is not 'really switching jobs' how will this be treated or possible ?

For those who are wondering about medical exam for pregant spouse. I had medical exam done for my wife (and we are expecting). Doctor decided to take Blood and TB skin test. He also decided to do blood partision exam (which will tell whether you have particular immunization done or not as a child) since we didn't have immunization record. It costed $400 (includes lab fees etc) in IL. He wanted us to come back after 2 days for TB result and after one week for blood test result.

The stated reason for the review falls within the law under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Under these circumstances, we typically see that the government issues a notice to the applicant wherein additional information is often requested. Kindly advise if you have received any notification from the consulate on this issue.

Once he has some information, he can communicate with the consulate here in India directly. I am not sure if you can do much here. I recently had to apply for a UK transit visa and the process went smooth as ever. I had to answer a lot of questions for both my wife and myself but after I have done that the process was easy. We just had to show up for finger printing just like for our 485s, send all the necessary documents to the correct address by (reliable) mail and just got emails that our visas have been approved. I have flown with BA before and their service is far better than any other airlines I have flown with before.
I have flown lot of airlines ..I was in merchant navy before. all airlines suck or are o.k (depends on yr view) i.e. they give you standard service.
the fact that you need a transit visa is stupid. they want to make money and in my view who ever pays for a visa for transit is a sucker.all the european airports who need TV control their airports ..not even a fly can go out unless they pass immigration customs etc - so why do they need visa !!. service in an airline depends on the mood of attendants ..so just based on one flight experience - dont say that BA is better than others.

This is awesome lead. It suggests that barring 203 (which does not talk much about per-country limits) and paragraph 2 (which goes moot when there is spill-over), there should be no discrimination. But does the anti-discrimination apply to "qualification requirements" ?? That will be the counter argument against applying this section.

Every 485 applicant needs to submit birth certificate. If in regional language then get it translated in english. I dont know any place/person for translation, but you would need to submit english version.
Do we need the Birth Certificate for secondary applicants(spouse).
None of the checklist(Employer based I-485) I have been thru say that I need the secondary applicants Birth certificate.
My spouses Birth certificate is in a regional language, and hence the question.
