my answer to Q 16 was C9 and the instructions said that for C9, send it to NSC for applicants living in CA. Hope this is correct!

There are only 2 locations now for most cases.... Phoenix and Dallas... wonder where did you get instructions to file to NSC...

I've heard one successful case who's CSPA age was 3 days over, but eventually his lawyer helped him got the visa. I'm hoping I can get some feedback or information on more similar cases. If anyone has ever heard about a similar situation (petition filed before Sep. 11, 2001, aged-out by CSPA, but benefited from Patriot Act 45-days extension), please let me know. Thanks!

I recently renewed my passport at DC embassy. It was not a great experience. The online application system gave me a date of Nov 27th. I go to consulate on the scheduled time to find that the office is closed. There were many like me who had come from far in cold to submit applications. With no choice we go back on 30th and there is huge line and only one window open. The lady at window was efficient but it was just too much for one person. Took me 3 hrs to get to window after which it was flat 30 sec (since I had payment and everything ready).
They gave me a date of Jan 5th for the passport return. That was almost 5 weeks. Since I was not planning any trips I was OK but there were lots of folks who wanted to make India trip and were forced to opt for tatkal scheme. I guess a way to make money. My friend went to NYC around Nov 15th and got his passport in 3 working days.
There was no apology for wasting our time due to their mistakes in appointment system. Any ways I never expected any so no disappointment. I will post the forum once I get my new passport on how that goes.

My friend's wife just got her H1 receipt number and he wanted to know if she can travel out of the country (and return before October) without stamping and if there is any need to change the status on her passport/visa.
Thank you,
(I'm pretty sure this issue must have come up earlier, I'll be grateful if you can please send a link to the post)

Team IV has the support from the Runner's World on-line!! This is an awesome opportunity to get Team IV some press coverage and national recognition for our efforts for the legal community and for our fight to help prevent childhood obesity!
C'mon IVians, with support from running giants like Runner's World, we should step up to the plate (or the start-line) of at least 1 walking/running event with Team IV!
Lets hear it for Team IV!

Every time someone comes up with something new they get shot down here by "certain" other members. They try to find reasons to say it was a bad idea rather than saying something constructive. Give this guy a chance.
...and what's the point of this discussion here? The point is not lost on anyone here that such bill(s) are needed and passed. So I am not quite sure what you hope to achieve by this poll - will this lead to any action on your part to write up such a bill or talk to your congressmen/women about the points discussed here?
I think a lot of people here just like to discuss the hell out of this topic just make themselves feel better!

Approved today in the most RESPECTED way for both Primary and Derivative.
--No Porting
--EB2- with qualified credentials: BS Engg;MS USA;
--No substitution
Called USCIS CS and verified information; and CS opened SR
Has been a long wait. Came in 1999 for MS, straight out of college from home country.
Oh your status said mentioned it as "RESPECTED". May be you are a special case for USCIS. Good for you.
I hope you realize that the only thing you gained is the disrespect of your peers. Enjoy it.

Actually today I received my CPO e-mail, so I will go down through my list! But anyway,
1. You can contact your local congressman and explain your situation
2. You can visit your local USCIS office through an Infopass appointment
3. You can file an ombudsman form (google it)
Good luck! Opening a SR was really helpful in my case.
Thanks for the info. Can you also tell us how to go through the other steps in your list?
Thanks once again. :)

People who are getting approved. Please post your notice received dates. It will help estimate if the USCIS is going by RD. Pappu says they are following FIFO but they are approving Feb and jan 2006 cases while 2005 PD is still waiting. Maybe they are going by RD FIFO. If we know the dates of people getting approved it will help.
My RD was July 17th....not sure if there is any trend that we can discern here...

With PD of 2003 you are not far from getting the card in your hand :D
I hope so. Some of my colleagues got their I-140 and I-485 approved at the same time when I-140 was filed with request to port earlier PD. I am hoping for the same...

You can also start a new thread with an idea. There is no stopping of ideas and evaluating ideas by others on the forum. It is just feedback that we give. One should be open to all kinds of feedback for an idea. Don't you get it in your own office?

Anyone received payment processing errors in the last couple of days on the E-File website? For some reason, while trying to complete payment for my AP e-file, when I try to use the credit card option, I keep getting an error that the e-filing payment processing server is unable to process payments at this time. I have been trying every hour for the last 2 days...and the stupid USCIS Customer Service number has no options to report this error...
From last two days I am also getting the Payment Processing error when i use the credit card option and called the Customer service, they informed send an email to E-filing.support@dhs.gov and sent an email yesterday and still didn't receive any response back. Today When i try to goto login page, now i am getting "Server is currently unavailable or down for maintenance".

Thanks for your support Needhelp! I really hope you can come walk the 5k at the Houston event. As I said before, the 5K is a 45 min walk at a moderate pace. And like Santb1975 said, you can reach a goal of 5K in 6-8 weeks.

Oh Yeah??
So why didn't we accept the current retrogression as "injustice and screwed up process of USCIS" and just sat tight? Why did IV get started? Why threadful of messages moaning in agony over the retrogression? What warranted those threads, and for that matter, IV then?
You can do as you please....I know IV will keep running and working for everyone of its members...No one is stopping u sfrom starting new threads...

My many friends from EB3 -Jan to Jun 2003 PD are still in process. I have met 2 EB2-May 2003PD guys already having GC. Very small sample but thought to mention it.
BharatPremi Please tell me I am wrong! i collected some data... and just by looking at it... it seems like EB3 will move very very slowly not as per your prediction! I m not a stats guru perhaps you or anyone who is a stats guru can shed some light here!
What is your EB3-India PD (I-485 either pending, or not yet filed)
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6203
Total Applicants (that voted) = 206
_______________
% distribution
_______________
43.21% 2001/2002/2003
25.25% 2004
16.51% 2005
13.59% 2006
1.46% 2007
_______________
Total Visa available / country = 140000/7% = 9800 in a year
Keep aside 10% for other categories, so 90% available for EB2 and EB3
9800 - 980 = 8820 total available for India EB2/EB3
50-50 between eb2 eb3 (assumption - probably a bad assumption)
4410/year available for EB3?
(This is where it really gets tricky!)
ASSUMPTION -
Approximate Indian EB3 Applications
Total Indian applicants / 2 (50-50 between eb2 and eb3)
Total 200k (low estimate) so EB3 100k approx
+ 100k Dependants = 200k Total EB3
Year 2001/2002/2003 = 43.21% = 46286
Number of years to clear off Backlog (2003 and prior) = 46286/4410 = 10 1/2 years
Up until 1/5/2007 PD was stable at around 5/8/2001
I think EB3 movement will be very slow based on above calculations
EDIT: Even if Unused Visas get funneled down to EB3 India > cut the time in 1/2 still looks like 4-5 years to clear EB3 < 2003
Does this sound right?
