Is there any way we can initiate the FBI namecheck/background check right away, so that by the time we apply the 485 this is already moving ahead and hopefully will not be a blocker.... i am just thinking out loud about ways we can streamline this process....anyone? ideas?

My perm labor was filed Tuesday evening and it was approved by Thursday evening. Perm labor was certified in 2 days. That was amazing!! :)

Offcourse, you have only 8 posts in this forum and very much junior to this community.
Having 8 post or 800 should not count for seniority. we should be able to ask ourselves how much productive contribution we have towards this forum instead of how much contribution we have to this forum. QUALITY is what that matters more than QUANTITY.

quick question ..did u efile - when and is yr FP over. I agree wait for 7 - 8 days more ..keep checking LUD's ...also did u get "card prod ordered email".
yes ..it is erratic ..but once they figure out the problems, I think people will get cards faster. I wonder if everyone opens a service request then what effect will that have (I am sure customer service people don't like that and maybe the service centers will start working faster ..).
Yes I did efile and my FP was done on June 17th. Nope I still have my status as Pending. I have requested expedite processing today and I will see what they will say. I will keep you posted

guys.. 30 minutes is a LOT.. I think I walked a little more than a mile. Feels good, but I think I'm getting a ear/head ache because of all that blood pounding in there.

Those whose PDs are getting close to the spillover time have time to waste on the forum on useless discussions. Others are busy in advocacy day and contributing. I would not be surprised that these antiIV folks will turn anti-immigrants once they get their greencards. They will not want more people to get greencards after them and compete with them and their children in job market.

You have really taken pains to put this in such an articulated fashion. Even though I do not feel great right now, I cannot stop dropping my 2 cents here.
While we know that all NON GC Holders will stop buying houses for the correct reasons I want to underscore some subtle reasons that influenced this buying spree. It is not my intention to put any one on pedestal. I am just writing what I observed. Not intended at any one in person.
Greed and lack of understanding
Want to make easy money. People think that Real estate value does not fall, just like in the places where they come from, where property has two values, Market value and government value with a huge differential. In the US, the county property assessments are purely based on market value. So thinking that the gains are not going to evaporate is lack of understanding of the system coupled with greed.
Do I/We really need a house?
Not many of the troubled home owners might have asked this Q. Had if they asked this Q, things would have been a lot better. The discussion of buying vs renting was almost gone. Every one held the opinion that buying trumps renting.
Save money on Taxes
This IMO, is the biggest myth. One needs to keep changing the house every 5 years to have the itemized deduction more than the standard deduction.B T W, If you live in one of the states that do not have state tax, your itemized deduction might not be so big that you will really benefit a lot every year. Hey! It does not matter where you are paying. Either you pay your taxes to uncle sam directly so that the govt can run fine or buy a home and contribute to the economy. In the end Govt gets the money. Biggest lie propagated by Realtors. Look at the amortization tables of your mortgage to find out.
Bad Realtor
Giving cash back to the buyers and trying to sell every damn home. When I buy a home, I will refuse to take the money from the Realtor off the bat. I will make him/her work and find the right home I want and would not just buy a home in a day. Easy money for the Realtor and a bad home with a bad loan for buyers. There are people who went out on the weekend and signed a home and told me at work on Monday.

I know people who are burned because of PMI and interest rate on second loan. Such down payment will keep the monthly EMI affordable and leaves out gimmicks.
I can understand taking a second loan on the 10% down payment, but people were let go with 0% down payment leaving them with a bad loan and a bad home. Some people bought the home they wanted, but the price was too high. Thats all they are left with.
As President O said, we collectively failed to take difficult and correct decisions even though the greed and deception can be attributed to some people on the wall street.

1) I have read some of your earlier posts on this thread and what you have primarily done is merely re-iterated what the issue is. Without any contribution or suggestion as to how to actually resolve it. And since the situation has continued to stay the same for several years due to Congressional indifference, you seem to have decided to pick on IV for all the faults with EB3 backlogs and the lack of effort therein to resolve the same. For a minute, please understand that we all know the facts and realize what plagues EB3 backlogs.

I do not know why you are stuck on insisting that we all think EB2 becoming current is the only solace for EB3 (associated spillovers etc etc.). IF Eb2 I gets current - well and good - Eb3 will still need some legislative relief (here I go again with EB2 vs EB3 - something I hate to do). But then one of your original gripes seemed to be blaming IV for not considering EB3 provisions in this Diversity Visa Bill which, at this early stage, is completely befuddling!
3) Your entire approach of going after EB2 applicants and blaming them for your dreamt up failure of IV is insane. Diluting the discussion with vitriol and then blaming everyone around you for not participating makes you a bigger "bigot" (sorry - just paraphrasing one of your used words) than what you blame others to be.
4) You do not represent my opinions. So please stop advocating yourself as an EB3 representative (which you are doing whether you believe it or not). Hi,
we sent our passport to Houston CGI in March. We received a mail from Postoffice saying that we missed the Passport and asking us to pick up at the post office. since we were out of station, we missed it in the bulk of mails and by the time we reached, the passport was sent back.
CGI houston replied us asking to confirm if the passport returned to Houston, and on confirmation, we asked them how to proceed to get it back. We got a call the other day to my home where in the person from CGI Houston informed that the passport was sent back as the photos were not clear, and they again got it back.
Now, the passport is with them. Will going in person make the work easy? We are in Dallas, and thinking of this.

Snathan, Thanks for all your help. Its been 9 months that my application is in PERM process and nothing happened except an AUDIT. I want to get out of this mess. I want to do anything that i can do to get out of this mess soon.
