During the debate, the immigration reform bill introduced by Senator Kerry as Title VI was agreed to, but it appears that at the last minute the immigration reform bills were sliced off along with all other bills which are not related to the minimum wage in passing H.R. 2 at 5:00 p.m. by the Senate. We incorrectly recorted the immigration bills were part of the H.R. 2 which the Senate passed yesterday. The final H.R. 2 bill passed by the Senate is expected to go to the Senate-Haouse Conference committee.

I guess the only way is to get an infopass appt on the 91st day .But heard theres no interim EAD .

It looks like November 2005, Jan 2006 and Feb 2006 priority dates are somehow lumped together. Of course mine is December and far be it from being even considered :)

Please help.
I am in the process of filing PERM. Ads have been placed etc and all the
formalities completed. Now, we are at a stage where the forms have to be prepared, signed and submitted. However, i am very unhappy with my attorney. He is unethical and i am afraid he will screw me up. So here are the questions
1) At this stage ( not yet filed PERM) but on the verge of filing, is it possible to change attorney or is the job order etc specific to the Attorney.
2) In form ETA -9089, in the Alien Work Experince section, it says to give the name of the aliens supervisor and the employers phone number.
MY attorney says this is not required. Any thought on this. Did your forms mention this ?
3) I am afraid my Attorney will deliberately mess up the form. What should I watch out for in the form before signing on it ?
4) IS there any redressal system at all in this country for Attorney Malpractice ? Anyone taken this route before ?

The first step you should get your employer to do is to file a job order in the state job bank or americas job bank. You have to keep this ad for 30 days and then wait another 30 days to file PERM. This is the longest time. All other forms of recruitment needs to wait only 30 days and you can file PERM on the 31st day. There is no mention of working days or weekends, it is 30 continuous days. As you know in addition to this job bank order, and two Sunday newspaper ads, there has to be three other forms of recruitment before you can file PERM. If your employer and lawyer are really proactive it will only take 60 days to file PERM from start to finish. You also have to get a prevailing wage determination and post it at your job site for 10 days not including holidays and weekends. Hope this helps. The worst injustice USCIS committed was setting up Backlog Elimination Centers and letting an incompetent contractor handle the cases slowly. Elaine Chao must be fired for incompetence and indifference just like Brown was fired for Katrina bungling.

It is surprising (rather shocking) to see how a discussion on an EB bill (which might never see the light of day anyway) has degenerated into an oft-repeated rant on how IV does not represent EB3.
When I meet with my lawmaker's office (and when I again meet in Feb), I repeat the IV provisions which are for ALL EB and not any specific category/country. THe problem with EB3 is the with the way the EB system/inventory is set-up. It is stupid to convert a chronic issue into a "IV is not trying" debate. As always, we have lots of armchair critics and few grass-roots workers.

Now for me or any other EB3 to meet a law maker is not something i would consider an effort since EB3 are willing to put the same effort which you are putting only if they believein what they are doing. To believe a person needs to feel that they are working for a cause that will impact their situation. Sadly this is missing and that is why EB3 people are cool about the whole meet the law maker process

Be what you are, Don't change yourself just to fit in crowd
I read a lot in this for people criticizing"Indians" who live in rented appt and not buying house Or living froogly and all....Everyone is coming different background family history. Every one has full right to live the way they want. We should not be judging based on how they live there life, unless it interfere with your life.
If we (I Or Anyone) decides to live the Americans live like doing camping and stuff over the weekend that is totaly individual preference. We shall never say that families (Indian) who don't like or don't prefer to do out door activity and stuff there kids will have nothing to talk about at school. Eventhough I personally like camping but I don't like camping because just to copy with american.
So Let's please not judge anyone, everyone makes the choice based on whatever they think is best for them. As long as there are not doing that by hurting someone, it's fine.
I wish everyone be happy ( Homeowners OR Non HomeOwners). Live the life at fullest. Living the life to fullest does not mean just spending money. You can be happy by spending time with family, Parents and friends.
I don't want to offend anyone, But If I did with my comments . I am sorry for that.

We will file our CSPA lawsuit on Monday. We have another plaintiff thanks to Atty. Andrew Knapp.
We hope that the USCIS, DHS and the Department of State will follow Matter of Garcia and apply the law not only to our plaintiffs but across the board.
Thousands of immigrants would benefit. We will post a copy of our complaint on our website later this weekend, and will discuss the lawsuit at the AILA convention next week, and in the upcoming issue of our free, e-mail newsletter.

Does IV work on getting PDs moving on visa bulletin. EB3 India has been stuck around for Apr 2001 for more than a year. Has IV taken any steps in this regards.

Join state chapter, attend a meeting law maker training session, and then try to arrange appointments with aids, and go and meet with them. Then follow up with them. I think that the training part is important.

Whats difference in today's bulletin or the ones we saw from Oct. Almost nothing. You should be a fool to expect to hope for anything with the movements we noticed.
I would say this should be taken as a starting point to put some efforts in making the law makers and othere aware of EB3 problems,. I am sure the predictors will now keep their "mouths" shut for the next few bulletin but atleast some of us put some efforts.
