Can someone explain to me, why should we call USCIS and inquire about receipt notices just weeks after filing AOS application when USCIS clearly states that it takes 30 days to process a receipt. Can we at least respect that piece of information and wait for 30 days before calling?

svan77: if a person posts on a forum he or she will get the opinions of members whether he/she likes it or not. all of us have our beef with labor substitors and ppl with 3 yr degrees or aptec/niit diplomas who just believe in jumping ahead of the line and have no qualms about it.

I don't understand about this fees.. I mean, you guys would have spent that money anyway. You may be loosing money for medical examination because it may expire. But the rest is something you would have done anyway.. I don't understand the logic of this thread..
Had we know that this was going to happen, at least for July 4 week, we would have planned a vacation and then used that money that we spent.

Once the dollar touches that low, expect huge salary cuts across the board for the employess of these companies.
I wish they invested in R and D and innovation and products instead of services. Service industry is mainly governed by dealing with cost efficient labor. These companies reach out to IITs IIMs get the best and brightest and dump them into the service sector and start earning on them.
If they changed their business modal and started investing in products and Rand D, it may not give them quick money, but the results will be beneficial on the long run.

Still waiting for my AP and my wife EAD and AP.
I don't know how there are picking files. We both applied at the same time (E-Filing).
Do I need to call them for information? or Will they have same information that in the website.?

Thanks so much man! Actually I was all set for Sept 13 but have a work appointment on Sept 18, yet I am even thinking of cancelling that to attend. I don't care how expensive it is. This is historic, just like Martin Luther King's Civil Rights movement! We can make history! It's an investment in our future!

In several responses people have compared MBA and PMP, I don't these two are comparable. Any thoughts?
I am not sure why the 2 are being compared. One is a professional degree while the other is a certification. MBA prepares you (in theory) for several different jobs (marketing, finance, ops, general mgmt etc.) while PMP is primarily to "check the box" on program management. With all due respect to the PMPs (and other PM credentials) I havent seen any additional skills that PMP provides.

Based on my receipt numbers and looking up on USCIS website, it appears my AOS application that was sent to NSC has been sent to California Center. I have not seen anybody's case being sent to CSC. Dunno how good or bad it is and whether it sppeds up/delays my EAD processing. Anybody had experience with CSC and got any of EAD/AP/GC approved from CSC.
My daughter's AOS: filed at NSC tranferred to CSC (RN say so) again transferred to TSC (online status: transferred to area Jurisdiction) so are the delays

No transit visa required. I got an identical response when I checked with the german consulate in november. Nevertheless, I did not take transit visa, and with visa stamping expired in March 2010, I travelled with AP on Lufthansa from IAD to BLR in December, and returned in Jan 2011, and nobody even mentioned the word "transit" anywhere along the route. Lufthansa staff is very knowledgeable about AP, both in Wash.Dulles and BLR. In fact, In BLR I saw that even Air France also does not require transit visa for Paris and allowed people with AP to board without transit visa. So folks, dont waste time and money on transit visa. Nothing is going to happen , unless you miss your connecting flight in Frankfurt, in which case you will not get to stay in a hotel and would have to spend the transit time in the airport.

This is new rule implemented and by thinking you as senior if someone goes and faces problem will you be responsible. So please don't do this boss.

I hope this clarifies your additional question. I suggest that you apply for an Airport Transit Visa as soon as possible to avoid any problems when travelling back to India via Frankfurt airport.

Can you or somebody tell me the nature of RFE that was issued after invoking AC21. Was it related to semilar/same job category or ability to pay or educational qualification etc etc.

I have seen many people in the forums getting RFE after invoking AC21. You know how USCIS works, right?? If they ever keep track of what they are doing and if they have a definite process in place, neither there will be any retrogression nor any of these forums. Be prepared for RFE if you are invoking AC21. Though you can survive that, imagine the period between receiving the RFE and responding to it. What if that happens in your 5th or 6th year of wait?? I pray that your wait is not that long.

I changed it to clarify. The answer is YES, we have had 100% approvals for CA=MA, but we have done relatively few. This is based on Indian documentation that CA=PGD. However the stronger evidence points to CA=BA. As you can see someone on this board got an approval for our evaluation for a CA=MA with a professor's expert letter. The professor's letters are not cheap but effective.
In India, only UGC (University Grant Commission) is qualified to issue equivalency letters. Professor letter can be supplemental, but it can not be authentic certification, as UGC is only one to issue that.

I don't know how many of you have actually visited DC offices and spoken to Congressional Office staff in person (not just sending E-mails or letters). I have been there, and done that. And I intend to continue to do that for myself, my family and the community..
Let me tell you this, if there is anything related to immigration - whether Visa recapture or increase in numbers - it will be with CIR. There was a slim chance for piecemeal legislation in the 110th Congress. There is almost none in the current Democrat-dominated Congress. This is the political reality we have to live with.
The question I was asked by the Congressional staff repeatedly was - 'If so many thousands are impacted, why are we seeing just 4-5 coming to DC asking for help? Why aren't we hearing about from our constituents? Why is it always 'the outsiders' approaching us? Why aren't they visiting us? Why aren't they writing letters to us?'. So many questions with no answers!
Fact of the matter is our community cannot get what it wants unless we willing to pull our butts off the couch and do the dirty groundwork. Just the 50 or so of us dedicated IV leaders cannot work miracles.
We don't have any magic spells or potions in our pockets. We need your help to succeed.
