I wanted to find about pre approved or pre adjudicated case, We have been hearing the same more often in the forum, so out of curiosity i opened a Service Request.
I kind of have a good relation ship with the former employer, worked with them for 4 years. I just called my company HR and he said he does not know my name is on withdrawn list but he will check the list and let me know tomorrow.
Take an infopass appt ASAP.
The officer in the local USCIS office will be able to give more details about your case.

Republicans with the help of the tea party is going to (or try to) move the country extreme right...........this election just made things complicated!
If you hear both the republicans and tea party - they talk of sticking to core principles. Their principles have not been very good to the middle class..........
This election has emboldened the republicans and further chickened the democrats - the need for compromise is lost...........
CIR may be dead/alive; piecemeal may be the option - either way, meeting with lawmakers to take up our issues just intensified. Especially if piecemeal is the way to go, we have to be meeting with every senator and congressman seeking and getting the support - because not only will the anti immigrants oppose it, we probably will have to fight of the CHC too.
Our community does not have the money or representation in the govt, so our only hope is the aggressive and consistent participation in grassroot efforts and advocate for changes with the lawmakers.

Is my H-1b still valid. I have scheduled travel on August 15'th 2008 via London (LHR). I believe, London airport does not allow any one with out proper visa's and documentation.
Does GC approval triggers automatic canellation of H1-B visa ( which is valid until Dec 2010)
How can I start another GC process , when they just approved a GC ( on August 06, 2008)

But the name of the person who called me matches with the name of the person who visited my employer's office around 2 months back. After I got a call from ICE officer, I notified the same to my employer and explained about the call.
Really donno what to do.... Even though the ICE officer took prior appointment for visiting me, should I still contact attorney?

Interesting reading. Wonder what is it about eugenics that still appeal to some people: Just get some geniuses and they will build heaven as opposed to people who are actually providing vital service to the community. I guess I should get my IQ results translated to English first.

Perhaps there should be separate EB category for anti-immigrant immigrants. At least we will have smarter bigots to contend with. :D

You, .. your self have made a mistake in Interpretating / understanding the post and reacted overly on the second issue by cornering the actual post.

Although the issues are true, I would still prefer having absolutely correct articles, so no anti-immigrant could point his/her finger saying "look, immigrants are spreading lies". Just like we bashed them when they were claiming that we pay less taxes. It was a good point to discredit them.

As you say that the illegal immigrant lobby gets hundreds of thousands of dollars per month. Do you think any illegal immigrant is contributing this money. They work for minimum wages and have hardly any money to spare.
I think most of the money comes from businesses that employ these people to cut costs.
Yes true, the hispanic groups is also about 50 million in size. I'm sure these businesses are breaking some law in funding, besides employment.
There are large organizations that support our cause too, especially IT. They played a big part in positive H1 reform. Not sure if they were approached or they work independently.
It looks like were averaging $0.05 per IV member though.
I find it hard to believe we don't have 2000 H-1s willing to contribute $25 a month
do people expect 40-50 persons to fund IV for campaigns that can benefit 45,000 members, as they watch from the sidelines?
Another point I think is that even if IV had a couple of million dollars I don't think it will be able to pursuade the Congress to pass any legislation to bring relief to legal immigrants .
I will defer that to core group & Donor Forum, but IV has acheived a lot of things as posted earlier, part of it through active lobby groups and political experts.

What do you do if while traveling abroad, your GC is lost/stolen? Would the CBP officer at the airport allow you back in on the basis of a photocopy?

I remember I read this somewhere (on one of the forum threads on IV) - that the only dates movement (if any) for EB-2 (India) will be only during Oct'07 (when the new financial year begins).
Until then, I guess there is no point in checking these Visa Bulletins; Only difference is when one of the pro-immigrant Bills in the Senate or House get passed.
For now, best strategy is to follow IV Core's directives - they have always been on top of things (going by the past one year or so), and seem to know more than most of us.

Yeah! except that they do....the first time I applied a long time ago that was the reason assigned. A few years down the road they invited me...someone called me and sure enough there was the discover card in the mail!
By the way my mortgage interest rate was a tad bit higher because of my non-immigrant status. My mortgage broker at the bank told me exactly that.
