You are smart. Pappu will continue to work on H1-B, even after receiving EAD.
It was pappu who said that 'Working on EAD is one-way street".
So, you will get your training and still don't have to pay penny unless pappu accepts cash.

There is no update on Murthy's website - She normally publishes authentic information on her site - So possibly we still may have a chance in July.
I guess the current wave of forward movement was due to murthy's discussions with Head of DOS.

Thought I'll add to this - There are many immigration and lawyer sites out there.
Most free forums would like to increase hits, by spreading misleading information and having a paid member incite arguments, spread rumors - the popular porting one, or India, China, ROW one, to generate more hits. thats how they make money.
Its time for people to look beyond all that and do the only real thing that works - That is meeting law makers.
One of the best ways to do this is Direclty in Washington DC.
This is our only real chance until 2013.

As a start, I've decided to start walking in my office garage for half an hour before lunch.
This is a perfect example of motivation, time management and dedication to improving your lifestyle and IV.

My office is only on the 2nd floor of the building where I work, but at as much as possible, I take the stairs, going up as much as 4 flights and down as many as 18!!
Whether you are getting back into shape or trying to sustain a healthy life style, this is a perfect way to staying on top of your goal!! And in the process of self-improvement you are raising money for IV!! How noble is that!!:)

Canadians don't have as many problems as Indians, but a broken system doesn't work for anyone. I know of Canadians who are also very frustrated with the system, myself included.

And you said "As some of you know...." . Were you trying in these lines before too. Can you direct me to any one of your forums more than 2 months old where we can see what you did before.
Trust me, in the past we knew of some guys who tried to distract the forum attention with proposals of doing somethings in the lines as you have said. Their goal is to distract and divert attention.
Not that we do not trust you, but we expect you have atleast your profile updated.
What do you do, when you come across someone who says I can get you a big job done for you, as I have contacts.. Not blindly trust, right.. We also check he his credentials. I am to some extent doing that, to be frank, not that everyone has profiles here with real information.
I told about you to my friends, and they asked me "Why do we trust him, dont you think he may be a Canadian who is trying to distract these innocent Indians and hence make sure they remain in backlogs"...

I got my passport renewed at CGI - Chicago. I mailed the passport docs out express mail on thursday. Reached them on Friday, monday was Columbus day, but to my surprise my passport was delivered exactly one week later. I recieved it on friday of the next week. Total time from start to finish 7 days. No mistakes on the passport either. I was very impressed. Anyway I heard that soon passports are being outsourced to TCS?

i met a guy like this last weekend. came to US 2/3 yrs back. has masters in India and has 5 yrs total experience. not doing any research. He is actually a contractor at a client. the employer, applied his GC under EB1. he got GC under 1yr. I was amazed.
he says, his employer applied for few of his other colleagues too, but rejected. most amazingly, for one of his boss (1 or 2 levels above him) also they applied under EB1 but his app was rejected. unbelievable stuff. i guess the EB1 verification is random.
Be so bothered about this trend if it was not siphoning away green card numbers from people who have paid taxes for so many years, played by the rules and still don't have anything to show for it. Plus under EB1 these guys completely skip the labor cert system and escape the brunt of DOL inefficiency.
Nowadays with job openings I'm seeing that the lowest common denominator is taken over a better qualified candidate, the differentiator being GC. If that's the case these guys/gals gaming the system will one day be our bosses. And we with our degrees and experience will have no other option but so say "Yes sir" to these chumps who got lucky.
I'm honestly thinking of writing a letter to the CIS director asking them to please scrutinize these applications closely.

It is good to see the combined Immigration community efforts are bringing results. However, it appears that no attention is being paid to raise the issue of children ageing out because of visa t the benefit under CSPA.
I hope some one from Immigration Voice leadership team will take a lead to highlight such issues also before the law makers.
My elder son also aged out in 2005, and fortunately, we had Canadian PR Card by then and he had to move out of the country. He had completed his three years of college in US and when moved to Canada had to loose one and a half years of credits as Canada did not recognize all the classes he had taken in US..
What a waste of time and money due to this broken Immigration sytem..

As dates will remain current for a while, and when dates retrogress - my take is they may not retrogress to a degree where backlogged applications are dated. So as approvals keep coming out of BECs the PDs of those backlogged till now may be eligible for filing 485.
This is my take. I write this because I understand your frustrations. The game is not over - I have a feeling that a lot of people will be on EAD status for a while
All those who are still waiting in BEC black hole, I feel for you. I was stuck in BEC for four years. Only managed to get out a couple of months ago after they allowed TR cases to be converted to RIR.
I tend to think the same way as chanduv23. Our final goal is a Green card, and it may still turn out that the people who are currently still waiting in BEC may end up getting their GC in hand before many of the ones that can apply for 485 in July.
The reason is that USCIS has clearly stated that it will retrogress big time in September. So, people with recent PDs may get to file their 485 but may have to wait for a long time for their PD to become current again to get the approval notice (folks, I am not wishing ill against any group here! I wish we all got our GCs ASAP. But since that is not going to happen, just trying to analyze facts). On the other hand, if BEC comes through with their sep 07 prediction, then these people with much older PDs may be able to apply for their 140/485 at that time and may end up getting their GC 6-12 months later because their PDs will still be current at the time of approval (Of course, this is assuming that they will not get caught in the Name Check Black hole)
So, all those who are still stuck in BEC, please hang in there, your day of freedom will arrive (maybe sooner than you are currently thinking).
